Summary
Two things happen simultaneously when their hands touch: first, the migraine that Xiao Zhan's been fighting all day dissipates so immediately that a loud gasp slips out of his mouth. Second, a torrential outpouring of warmth shoots up Xiao Zhan's arm so quickly that he almost loses his balance and falls off the bench. The next moment, Xiao Zhan drops Yibo's hand. He tries to convert the abrupt movement into something more graceful, but he doesn't think he succeeds.
Yibo's eyes have gone wide. His neck bobs as he swallows. What the hell, Xiao Zhan thinks faintly, astonishment thick in his throat. He just manages to keep himself from passing out as the migraine lances through his head again with a vengeance.

Summary
When Song Lan confronts Xue Yang in Yi City, Xue Yang makes him an offer he can't refuse: Song Lan moves in. Xiao Xingchen stays ignorant (and happy). Nobody has to die.
Three in a coffin house becomes four. This is, it turns out, not an easy adjustment to make. Xue Yang discovers that Song Lan moving in means living with Song Lan. Xiao Xingchen's reunion with his dear friend isn't going as smoothly as he'd hoped. Song Lan realizes that Xiao Xingchen has built a life without him in it. A-Qing is pretty sure everyone here has lost their minds.
But they're going to make this work. Or die trying.

Summary

Ferdinand’s lips twitch into a smile, and he almost laughs. What air escapes his lips cannot make it all the way, however, and is lost in a sigh instead.

Hubert wonders if he sounds so vulnerable, so uncertain, when he talks to the Goddess.
Hubert has never had need of the Church, or the Goddess. But Ferdinand still clings to his beliefs, even in the midst of war.
