"Does it help?"
"Huh?" Joker tilts his head "What? The smoking?"
Benimaru nods slightly.
Joker inhales slowly, savoring the feeling of smoke filling his lungs. "No. Not anymore."
Joker waves the cigarette in the air, "They aren't allowed inside the Temple." He smiles wryly "I suppose I should be thankful that he couldn't snuff cigarettes out on my back."
"I heard you, that day." Benimaru states " 'Again and again, you made sure to beat that lesson into me.' " He quotes.
Joker freezes, cigarette halfway back to his lips. "That's some sharp hearing you've got."
"Do you want to know?" Joker's voice is hoarse and softer than Benimaru has ever heard it, but the offer is enough for him to snap his head to the side turning his burning gaze once more to the taller man. Joker doesn't react, his features obscured by the shadow of his hat.
"Will you tell me?" Benimaru asks softly, brows raising slightly with curiosity.

Summary
The way he sees it, there are three ways out of this situation. One: he tells Alastor he knows that he’s still hurt and offers to heal the wound through touch, which will take approximately an hour, after which they never have to speak again. That one’s mostly a bust simply because Lucifer reckons Alastor won’t let him get past the first part without mauling him.
Two: he lets Alastor die of being a stubborn, pissy bastard. This one’s not really an option considering the whole reason he’s going through all of this trouble is so that Charlie will stop worrying. Killing him won’t stop the worrying, no matter how much he wishes it would.
Finally, unfortunately the only feasible plan, is to siphon the poison from the wound over time. Slowly imbuing Alastor’s soul with his own, tainted holy energy in order to heal the wound over several days.

In which Lucifer heals Alastor's Adam Wound but it's not exactly what you'd expect. Enemies to begrudging friends(?) read to find out :)

Blood pooled on the grass and Sanji could see it running from the long gashes on his upper back. His shirt was in tatters on the grass beside him and his pants were soaked through.
Sanji shifted his weight and a branch broke under his foot, startling the Inmate out of his calm position by the pond. He shot up and turned in a flash, fright evident in steel grey eyes as they searched the edge of the forest, before landing on Sanji.

When Sigyn is visited by the Allfather of Asgard, what she expects is some sort of democratic meeting about the joining of their people, what she does not expect is to have offered to her a bruised and bloodied man as a consort, who is chained up at the bottom of her throne. Whilst she is disgusted with the treatment of the man, she finds herself considering the offer. Not for democracy, or peace, but for pity on the poor fellow.
Little known to her, she just agreed to bring into her palace Odin's second son out of pity, and soon finds out that the bruises he carried on him when he was offered to her go further down than just the skin.
