Summary
Marisol has never done this, Eddie thinks, suddenly and without intending to. He blinks, startled by his own intensity, but it’s true. Marisol makes conversation with Christopher and joins in on activities that he and Eddie do, but it’s not— this. Not the undivided devotion that Buck is demonstrating, that Buck demonstrates, over and over. He could be anywhere right now, but he’s here, with a worksheet on literary devices in front of him. Is that not why Eddie chose him, went down to the city court after a lightning storm to meet with his lawyer? Because no one else has been there in that capacity? Because he trusts no one more?

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Summary
All Eddie could smell was Buck. He knew Buck had just come back for a run, and the smell of his sweat hit Eddie almost like a storm front blowing over the desert. He could smell his own laundry detergent, Buck had obviously been washing his clothes here with the Tide Free and Clear that Eddie used, and even though it was fragrance free there was always a hint of clean soap about it. But over that was Buck’s own scent. Thick and masculine, salty with sweat and the citrus of the deodorant Eddie knew crusted in his pit hair. It was so shockingly different from the perfume Marisol had worn, lilac and white pine needles.
Eddie swallowed and the smell only got stronger, filling up his entire existence with just Buck for a moment and Eddie had the overwhelming urge to turn his head and press his nose to Buck’s sweaty skin.

Eddie is injured on a call and left blinded. Buck immediately volunteers to move into the Diaz house and help Eddie out. Surely this will be a normal few weeks and Eddie's heightened senses will reveal nothing about how intertwined he and Buck are, right?(written for the 911 Gotcha for Gaza)

Summary
Buck’s not going to let Eddie just hide himself away.
He knows Eddie’s in mourning for Christopher, he knows he’s struggling with his actions and everything that happened because of them.
But Buck’s not going to let him drown in his misery and depression. There’s no way he’s going to let him go through this alone, even though Eddie will push back - Buck knows him, and he will push - but he’s going to keep pushing too. He’s not going to let Eddie isolate himself.
So, Operation: Keep Eddie Diaz Busy and Annoyed has started.
Or, the one where Buck forces Eddie to keep busy while Chris is gone, but ends up catching a bad case of The Feelings in the middle of Eddie learning to love pickling things to irritate Chim and charming old ladies through square dancing.

Summary
May realised a very long time ago that Buck was basically her stepbrother. So, when the lightning strike finally provided the impetus for Bobby to admit that he also brought a kid into their family, she had every intention of seizing the opportunity to properly integrate Buck into the Grant-Nash family.
And, look, if in the process she also gains a brother-in-law… clearly the universe was just waiting for the opportunity to make that happen.

Summary
Eddie is struggling with Christopher gone. His son is still ignoring him, and no matter what everyone tells him, he can't help but think that he's a terrible parent. On top of that, he's trying to handle the horrible feeling he gets when he sees his best friend with other men and struggling to tell himself that it's anything other than homophobia.
But Buck's sudden hiding of his phone whenever Eddie is in sight has him riled up in ways that threaten to destroy his relationship with the one person he can still rely on without fail. And when Christopher reaches out to him, how can he allow himself to act on any of his feelings when that's what pushed his son away in the first place?

Eddie really liked Tommy.
If asked, he could give a long list of reasons why.
Tommy was an army guy, like Eddie himself, they had a lot of shared experiences.
Tommy was witty, he always had a one liner ready to throw out.
Tommy was into MMA, and muay thai, and he could fly Eddie to games.
Tommy would play pickup with him even when Buck always said no.
Tommy was good with Christopher. He had an easy charm with Eddie’s preteen son, and he had lots of stories that Christopher couldn’t quite get enough of.
And, the most important reason, Tommy had been a huge part of the reason Athena and Bobby had survived.
The problem was… Eddie kind of couldn’t fucking stand Tommy.
OR -
Eddie goes through the stages of grief watching Buck and Tommy together and gets progressively more unhinged as his jealousy builds. No bashing of Marisol or Tommy in this, they're just not right for Eddie and Buck.

After being single for too long, Tía Pepa had made it her responsibility to find her nephew a new girlfriend - much to Eddie's chagrin, who was happy with his life as a single father. But no matter how many times he told her he wasn't looking for anyone at the moment, she wouldn't give up.
The only logical conclusion? To pretend as if he was already in a happy, healthy relationship with somebody else. Who was that somebody? Let's just say, Eddie was happy he had such great friends.

Maddie lets out this giggle, then covers her mouth. "Hang on, you - made out on a pool table, in a public bar-what do you mean? Like against it, or?"
"Uh," Buck says. "It started out against it, and then, it got more... horizontal? I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out, honestly."
"Oh my god. Oh my god, Buck." She smacks his shoulder.
"Yeah, it... it was a lot, and... so we just-so I took him home, and he was drunk, and I helped him get, you know, situated. But then he asked me to... kiss him again, and... and I did, and it was stupid, and then this morning, he freaked out and apologized and tried to tell me he wasn't into guys, and... I just left. It was... awkward. It was a mistake."
Maddie's brow furrows, and she tilts her head, adorned in this knowing, probing expression. "He's not into guys, but he made out with you, horizontally, on a pool table, and then asked you to do it again when you got to his place?"
"He was drunk," Buck clarifies. "It happens."
"Does it?" Maddie asks.
OR
Buck and Eddie deal with the fallout of a drunken makeout, or two.
