Ilyas eyes widened with surprise, the idea of blackmailing Shane is disgusting and Ilyas face hardens at the accusation. Hayden might actually need some answers. Ilya collects his cool enough to stop himself from punching Pike. “Him and me are best hockey players, yes?”
“Debatable” Hayden quips.

It's the last few days of this blissful two week getaway for Shane and Ilya at the cottage. They are reveling in being together before they go back to hiding this relationship and executing their long game plan.
So when Hayden and J.J. stop in to surprise Shane at his cottage for lunch on their way to an expo near Ottawa, the long game plan just got a bit shorter, and nothing quite goes to plan because this wasn't in the plan.
Or... a world where Hayden Pike and J.J. find out about Shane being gay and being with Ilya all in one day. Redemption arc for J.J. handling it just about as well as Hayden does.
