Summary
After being mysteriously turned into a vampire, Mad Dog finds he doesn't exactly hate all of his new abilities. It can be annoying sometimes, that's for sure, but he's more focused on finding where The Sundown Kid has been hiding for months now. It makes sense that he'd turn up right outside of Success, and Mad Dog's never been more excited to challenge him to a duel. Mad Dog only wanted to beat him, turn him in for the money, and accomplish his years long dream, but things can never go according to his plan, can they? And soon any plans of his are further destroyed by the new threat looming over the town of Success. A threat backed by powers that may prove too strong for the inhabitants to fight without the help of The Sundown Kid and Mad Dog both changed by forces greater than them.

After Yosuke’s bike is cruelly destroyed before his eyes, he’s forced to share a bike with Kanji to get back to Inaba. Maybe Kanji’s not a horrible guy, either, letting Yosuke crash at his place so he doesn’t have to deal with his annoying parents. It’ll just be one night, but Yosuke is still reeling from the day’s adventures and well, he’s got girls on the mind.

It's been a long, exhausting day for both Mad Dog and The Sundown Kid. Mad Dog's got a brand new bottle of whiskey calling his name, but he's forced to share it with Sundown Kid before their promised duel in the morning. Before that morning comes though, the night is quiet and slow, and it only makes sense to give a man a helping hand, right?

“George always thought he would perish staring the enemy in the eye, with honor and pride. But there are neither attribute here, at this moment. He cannot see anything, the night sky reflecting its darkness into the ocean, the upside-down keel of the wrecked transport ship either already engulfed under or too far away for him to see.”
George Washington should have died that night, in the cold, dark ocean. He should have drowned alone with his feelings of regret, but Fate would have it another way.
Or rather than Fate, as George will learn, a mythical creature comes into his life to turn it upside down.
