Izuna even tried haunting Sasuke's house a few times, but only the neighbor cats ever saw or heard him.
So Izuna has reasonably decided that being a ghost sucks. He can't even see other dead people! He can't give off bad vibes, can't possess people... the list goes on. He's starting to think that he's just bad at being dead, which oddly stings his ego. It's not like he was all that good at being alive either, something his current state readily supports.
Whatever. He's better at other things. Like hair!

A C-Rank retrieval mission takes Boruto's squad to the excavation of an ancient village left in ruins. When he splits off from his teammates to go exploring, he finds himself unwittingly thrown back to a time when his father was shorter than him, the village was half the size, and a whole lot of dead people were still alive and kicking. Were that the only problem, maybe he could cope. But the curse mark on his arm just won't stop talking to him.
And being the Hokage's son, it's only a matter of time before his old man goes looking for him.

“Oh yes, and this too,” she says, and then from somewhere plucks out a buttery pale scroll the length of her arm, and deposits that on top of the dumplings.
Kakashi looks at the Scroll of a Thousand Cranes, the secondary mission objective, and makes a “huh” noise.
Rin and Obito have been taking care of his missions more and more these days. That’s probably a good reason to finally request being taken off active roster, considering Rin and Obito are figments of Kakashi’s imagination. Or coma. Or whatever drug-induced stupor he might’ve gotten himself into. No one’s complaining, not the higher ups or even his ANBU teams, which makes the latter two options very rather likely. Mainly since the last two options translate to: nothing that happens to Kakashi is actually happening.
(Or: Hatake Kakashi and his two (not) hallucinatory dead best friends.)

Merlin opened his mouth. A noise unlike any sound Arthur had ever heard escaped from it. Loud and rumbling and guttural, inhuman, and in no way, shape, or form could actually be coming from his manservant.

“The name is vaguely familiar,” she admits, “but, as I have reminded Mitarashi-san several times, I am not a ninja and we do not share the same social circles. Just from our conversation I can tell you that he’s a man and people probably don’t like him.”
“If you don’t know who he is then how do you know people don’t like him?” Anko asks, pointing an accusatory finger at the waitress.
“People don’t call you “friend killer” if they like you.”
