But he can’t hold onto the thought, the feeling always slipping through his fingers.
He’s bobbing to-and-fro, swimming in the Nothing, but always going under with a crash of Something. The Something that tells him that something isn’t right. Try as he might, however, he can’t tell where the Nothing starts and ends. His mind—it's melded itself to the walls of this lonesome state of nonbeing, making it difficult to think, to wake up. At least, he thinks—no, he’s pretty certain this isn’t how things used to be. It wouldn’t be nagging at him so badly if so, he thinks.

Summary
As the war stretched on for interminable vorn, Prowl found himself faced time and again with the mounting stress of his position. Many of those times he was forced to face alone, the gear grinding stress sending him to Ratchet for system overhauls and forced defrags. But every so often he'd be fortunate enough to have Jazz on hand, and when he did, well, it didn't take much.
Pressing Jazz up against the wall, cramming him into corners, pinning him facedown over Prowl's desk. It didn't matter as long he could keep Jazz still.

He was staring at his cuffed hands, could feel the hard unyielding metal of the chair beneath him, could see the impeccably shiny but still scuffed top of the table he was chained to.
Unfortunately, he remembered exactly what happened to lead him to this position. No lucky stasis memory lapse for him.
“You finally awake? Oh, that’s good. We can talk before he gets here.”
Jazz looked up and could see…a blue and white mech, accents of grey and black, standing at attention. Like he was used to the strict protocol or was trying to look firmer than he sounded. Something about him felt…off. Familiar in a ‘like meets like’ way and yet not like at all. Behind him a few feet away was the shut door with a red light glaring over it and standing besides said closed door was another…mech? Nah. Not a mech. Something else. Ain’t no mech feel as dead as that one did. It just looked like one.

Jazz couldn’t even get the clearance to have Bebop’s visor display emojis, and not for the lack of trying. Meanwhile, this guy gets a whole, expressive face and—holy shit, are those teeth?

In the ruins of Praxus, the only living thing the Autobots find is a little sparkling named Blue. Jazz immediately becomes attached, and adopts the mechling into his life. He'd never let anything happen to his new charge.
Prowl drags himself out of the ruins with a single-minded goal. He'll do anything to get his sparkling back.
They may need eachother more than they know.
