“Yes.” Nebula says stiffly.

“Wouldn’t that be nice,” chuckles Stakar, apparently deciding that as the captain it’s his job to get involved in this. “Those a-holes she hangs out with are always at the centre of whatever the weirdest thing going on in the galaxy is. If we knew what they’re up to we’d know which parts to steer clear off.”
“I mean they are always getting in trouble. Half the time it’s on purpose. And what if it’s going to get worse now that Star-guy and Bug left?” Gamora says, all the more passionate on the subject now that she’s been agreed with, if only jokingly. Because the captain couldn’t have meant that. That wasn’t the kind of idea they got the whole crew together over so they can work out an actual plan of action... “I mean who is even in charge right now? I don’t know. Why would I need to be told...?” Gamora snaps with angry indignation.

There’s someone hunched over the edge of the ship—and that’s about all she sees of them before the darkness shoves its way back over La Rascasse. But now she knows that someone is up, and if they’re out on the deck in the middle of a storm during the night, then something must be wrong.
Filled with curiosity, Sophia lights a lantern, throws on a waxed leather cloak that will repel the rain, puts on her shoes, and ventures out into the storm.
The rain claws desperately at her lantern, but the flame is safely protected by the four sides of glass covering it. The soft orange glow is still quite weak in the dark storm, but it provides enough light for her to see who is out on the deck.
It’s Amicia.

She will never fully comprehend the extent of Amicia’s suffering, but she gets a taste of it through moments like this, and it’s a bitter gall in her mouth. She, at the very least, has the ability to spit it out. Amicia is not as lucky.
Sophia rubs up and down Amicia’s arm, hoping to wake her up or at least provide some level of comfort. “Shh, it’s alright now, sweetheart,” Sophia says. “Wake up. It’s only a dream. You’re okay.”
Amicia flinches, then her eyelids flutter open, revealing glassy, unfocused eyes underneath. She tries to sit up but lacks the strength. She looks terribly confused, lost, afraid, her fever muddling her perception. Puzzlement washes over her face as she squints at Sophia, her delirium blurring the lines of reality.
“M...Mother?” Amicia croaks, her voice barely audible. Her parched lips quiver as she attempts to form the words.
