Summary
Some Gods are benevolent. Some are dangerous. Others are kind and generous.
Some wish for the God-vessel—to possess him like Sleep does; to possess the answer to questions they have that may not be answered by other beings but by a human who has experienced the worst side of life.
Some Gods want power. Others want malevolent things. And even then, some just want to be seen.
But they all want the attention of the God-vessel.
When they don't get it, they turn to those closest to him.
II, III, and IV are in no way prepared for the trouble they find themselves in when the Gods turn toward them instead of Vessel, who cannot answer questions he doesn’t have an answer for. Sleep tries to help but can only do so much to dissuade the others, and stopping a war between all-powerful beings is not on the God of Dreams’ to-do list.

Summary
The months following Allison's death have passed Stiles by in a haze of monotony. He sleepwalks through days that seem to lose their color, an unwilling passenger in a body he no longer trusts. “I just… I wish I was,” John whispers, “Normal. I tried with Abi but that weren’t fair to her and it just… It just made me feel bad.”
Arthur frowns at him softly and lightens his touch, gently rubbing up and down the younger man’s spine.
“I just wanna forget about it,” John admits weakly and closes his eyes.
“Forget about what?”
“… I’m just gonna stay out here and be alone,” John’s brows furrow and he lifts his head to look up at Arthur, “Is that too suspicious?”
“I… No, I guess not.”
“I mean no one thinks you're gay,” John rubs at his eyes tiredly then stills, peeking over his hand at Arthur, “Sorry.”

“Someone’s up late,” Crosshair drawls, spinning his chair around and preparing to scold their littlest member for not being in bed, but stops short when he faces her. Omega has Lula tucked under one arm, shuffling a little where she’s standing. Her eyes are big and red-rimmed, and she quickly swipes at the remnant of tears on her cheeks when Crosshair leans forward to look at her in the dim light.
“Nightmare?” He asks quietly. She nods. He sighs, crossing his arms. “Why don’t you go bother Hunter or Wrecker?”
Omega fidgets, worrying on one of Lula’s ears. “I, um. I didn’t want to wake them.”
Crosshair frowns. Omega has no qualms with climbing into one of her brothers’ bunks after a nightmare; after her ordeal with the bounty hunters on Bora Vio, she’s spent more nights than not curled into Hunter, her little hands clutching his shirt as she sleeps. But she’s not in the bunk room, which means that she sought out Crosshair on purpose. She’s here, in the cockpit, to be with him.
