Wade Wilson is the best merc in the business, and he knows it. When he crosses the wrong kind of withered old lady—the magic kind—she curses him to regret his cockiness in the most literal way possible: By turning him into a cock. A rooster. A male hen, of the chicken variety.
Peter Parker, grieving the loss of Aunt May and Uncle Ben, needs a change. That's what his grief counselor says, anyway. So he makes an impulsive and massive one: He buys a farm. He doesn't mean for it to turn in a rescue for broken things, he just... he can't help but love the animals that no one else wants. Thus, when he overhears a greasy, crude asshole trying to pawn off a rooster in the middle of a farmer's market, he doesn't hesitate.
But there's something wrong with this rooster. It doesn't crow at sunrise—which is the only thing Peter expects a rooster would do—but it does holler its tail off whenever Peter bends over. And it follows him around and clucks like it's talking to him. And it's weirdly good at killing the vermin around the house.
There's a mystery afoot. Peter's going to get to the bottom of it.

This is an AU of loosingletters' The Background Noise Of Defiance verse
Instead of Luke inadvertently revealing to his anonymous holonet friend that his last name is Skywalker, thus revealing himself as the son of said holonet friend (yes, Darth Vader has a Space Twitter), he keeps mum and instead takes on Vader's job offer, becoming the new Head Engineer aboard the Executor, alias, the Lady. While he's thrilled to be there, thriving on getting to improve the lackluster hardware that gets shunted onto the rank-and-file of the Empire and building up a rapport with the mysterious Sith Lord who is fast becoming the father figure he never had, not everyone aboard is as happy about the young engineer shaking up the previously well-cemented hierarchy of the Lady.
But ask Luke and Vader if they care. All Piett knows is that this is gonna be one hell of a headache and way above his paygrade. At least he gets to see his boss be put in his place by a teenage engineer and Lord Vader himself.

My attempt at weaving Shay Cormac into Assassin's Creed 3. My first fic, be kind to me. D:
Events take place after the Boston Tea Party. Basically, events are just slowed way down. In the game, we see that the Boston Tea Party happens, and then the story projects itself to "six months later". I'm Introducing Shay soon after the Boston Tea Party.
So, from the game, we know that William Johnson continued on with his plan of buying the Native-owned land, despite being slowed down by Connor's participation in the Boston Tea Party. Where did Johnson receive the funds to continue the purchase? Well, none other than Shay Patrick Cormac.
Connor hunts Shay, only to learn that circumstances are much more complicated than the simple assassination he was expecting.Folly: a lack of good sense; foolishness
