Berdly does what a Berdly usually… doesn’t. He might not be who Kris wanted to spend the day with. He definitely isn’t supposed to be where they’re going. But if he can be by Kris’ side. If Kris can choose him, even just to be who he cries to about… whatever is going on with their poor, injured heart, this festival.
Berdly could do anything. Because even if he didn’t make a good one. Berdly never really, ever once, stopped dreaming of being a knight.

The continued silence is deafening. Wide shoulders heave with heavy breath, that dark gaze tightening at Grace’s further insistence. Greasy, inky hair falls around his face, unruly tendrils shielding scarred skin from the outside.

Despite his numerous diplomas and published papers, he chooses to spend his time surrounded by the chaos of a classroom, trying to keep children engaged in the science and life of the world around them. The distraction is a welcome one after witnessing the death of his twin brother in a tragic work accident. Teaching his students quickly became all that he had. Placed on leave and unable to teach, he now has nothing.
The collision of their paths happens unceremoniously and spectaculary all at once in the midst of a musty gymnasium support group.
