“I gave him twenty bucks,” Stephanie interrupts, and has a front row seat to watch the light in Bruce’s eyes die a slow death as Tim gives up on the charade, going back to braiding her hair.
“Tim,” Bruce says the same way retail workers say kill me now, “I’m a billionaire. If you wanted twenty bucks why didn’t you just ask me?”

"What do you want him to do?" Drake snapped. "Admit that he's a little bit worried about you because you fucking died?"
Damian was on his feet before he knew what happened. He couldn't breathe for the hate burning in his chest. How dare Drake talk about it. How dare he preach as though he agreed. "I'm surprised you pretend to give a fuck, Drake," he hissed, derision and bitterness dripping from the words. "I...I would have thought you were happy I was gone!"
He didn't think about the words until after they left his mouth, after the Cave was deadly silent and the sentence echoed through the room, hung in the air like smoke. Drake's chest was heaving, but he didn't say a word, and his eyes were so dark that Damian actually took a step back in irrational fear. Abruptly, Drake shoved his chair back with a screech, and left without a word, his footsteps resounding through the cave. Damian watched him go, numb.

Summary
They’d been dating for over a year and Bernard still hadn’t met Tim’s family. Bernard knew that Tim was an anxious, paranoid mess, and that he was just trying to keep things under control, but still. Not knowing Tim’s family made their whole thing feel less. . .permanent. Easier for Tim to end when he got scared. Easier for Tim to leave Bernard alone. Again.
But Bernard was determined to make this work, because this past year had been the best year of his life and that was in large part due to Tim. So he’d done what normal, healthy people did in relationships and communicated his concerns to his boyfriend.
And Tim had proven, once again, that he actually listened to Bernard.
Or, Bernard bonding with the Batkids while also dealing with his trauma from his parents and from the cult. And maybe finding a family along the way.

He has no right to pretend it isn’t true now that they can all hear it aloud. “But you hate yourself more for making us worse, which is—it’s fucked up, but we’re all fucked up, and it’s—it’s only partially your fault. You secretly wish you’d never met any of us, and you’d be right about it because now we hate ourselves, too.”
How can Bruce have the audacity to look heartbroken when he already knew all of this? Why is he pretending? Why does he keep lying?
(Dick is dosed with truth serum, and the effects will take at least a day to wear off. During that time, Dick is forced to reveal and confront truths about himself that he never wanted to acknowledge. )

But he’s not, like, obsessive about it. He still eats, and most of the time it’s perfectly fine. He’s lucky that Alfred already cooks for a vigilante diet, so most of his meals are lean and filled with protein anyway. He’s just…more careful about it.
No one lingers or comments on how little Dick eats. Anyone who looks at him can deduce that he’s an athlete. Health-conscious eating comes with the territory, and being an acrobat at that means everyone expects him to stay lithe.
Besides—he’s Robin, isn’t he? Might as well eat like one.
