The glass was impossible for Peter to break, but he could still hear through it. He could even kind of hear the voice coming through the comm device in the guy’s ear.
“Buck? Talk to me.”
Peter recognized that voice, but his brain was too fuzzy to pinpoint it. The tests that the scientists had put him through hadn’t been too horrible so far, but the constant triggering of his Spidey sense had overloaded all his heightened senses. It was hard to retain anything through the migraine, as if words were pouring around the sides of his brain and sliding off.
“It’s a kid.”

“Yeah?” Bucky asked. He loosened his grip on Peter’s shoulder, but didn’t take his hand away.
“My back still hurts sometimes,” Peter explained quietly. “But that might be because of the swinging. Hard to find a strong enough chiropractor to crack it, you know? Maybe… maybe two thousand tons of concrete would do it, though.” Bucky leveled his gaze at the kid. Peter looked back at him, swallowing hard.
“Let’s call that Plan B, okay?” Bucky suggested.
“Yeah, okay,” Peter mumbled.

Or, Peter gets caught in the collapse of a parking garage with a (mildly) concussed Bucky Barnes, and has a nice get-to-know-you sesh with our favorite super soldier while waiting for Tony to find a safe way get them out. Super chill, right? Everything's fine. Oh- and he's been impaled by two rods of rebar and can't move without risking bleeding out. That... complicates things.

He hadn't said anything because there was a version of this conversation that could go sideways very quickly, a version where Mike looked at him with those blue eyes and understood something Harvey hadn't quite finished understanding himself, and that version wasn't one Harvey Specter intended to live through. So he said nothing. He focused on depositions and billing hours and the very correct, very professional issue of what exactly his associate's disaster of a wingspan was doing to the firm's image.
