Tony Stark was very lonely. He and Pepper had recently broken up. His friends had betrayed him, and he was now forced to live with the very same people who had hurt him. He didn't think he could take one more blow and stay standing under it. The life of a demigod is blood and gore and trauma and constantly looking over your shoulder never knowing if each breath that rattles in your chest will be your last. It’s a thankless, cursed thing, something that takes more than it gives. It's a punishment for daring to be born. If you want anything? You have to bleed for it. Not just the glory or fame- you have to bleed just to be able to have the chance your parent will just look at you. Most demigods are willing to risk it all just for that- not Dennis.
