Summary

All Astrotrain ever wanted was a little respect. When the new Prime puts him up in his palace after a delivery, the staff take it upon themselves show him how the other side lives- in exchange for his fresh, hot takes on all of it.
Side fic branching off of "Nor Is He Early" after Chapter 95, but the backstory is hardly required.

I consider this one required reading for the better-than-canon TF fanfiction 101 course. An expansive, imaginative, gritty prewar chronicle following Soundwave from his beginnings to Megatron's orbit, and one of my all-time favorite novels of any kind. If it were a book, I would buy it in hardcover- and a coffee table to put it on.

Throw every assumption you might have about TF fics with a human OC main character out the window for this one. This is like the cerebral PhD level chronicle of what happens when robots from Cybertron try to figure out how to live on Earth with its moist, terrifying inhabitants. There's sap, sand (so much sand), and wacky waving inflatable tube man religion. And it's COMPLETE. What more could you want?

Unfinished, but still a definitive pre-war text that is deeply immersive and fascinating. The socio-economic dynamics are unusually rich and create a unique vibe throughout. Romance limited to a budding crush in existing content.
