Raoul should have died back then from the gruesome attack, yet here he is, still alive and breathing. He has his monthly troubles, but not much else has changed. That doesn’t mean it did not take a lot for them both to adapt, but with time comes familiarity, and both have ample of that.

They mated. No matter how Raoul puts it, he and Erik are now bound for life. Though, him being the wolf and Erik most assuredly not, leaves some things to be desired. Most notably, Erik not being bound to him.
He tries. He really does, but his primal instinct is stronger than logic and reason at times. All he can do is stick around and see if his vampire mate will warm up to him. He will make it work. By God, he will, for he refuses to be one of those wolves that ends up in perpetual heartache over a mate that doesn't want him. He really, really does not want that.

Unable to reject it, Raoul goes—and promptly has to deal with the fact that he is whored out like a mere prostitute and taken right there on the stage.
Erik watches. Until he doesn’t—and he takes care of the poor, broken boy.
