Sure, he'd accepted long ago that he was the type of guy to dive headfirst into a pool without checking the depth, but this time Buck didn’t even know the pool existed.

    “Uhh…hi…hello.” Buck managed to mumble as he crept forward. The lady, her voice dripping with uncertainty, responded rather swiftly.

    And Buck startles. Drags his attention away from his phone, slowly turns his head in the direction of the sound.

    Eddie Diaz is standing directly in front of him.

    For a rare split second, he finds himself tongue-tied.
