He chuckles at her as he follows her into his apartment. “Top of the fridge. Pour me one too? Glasses are in the cabinet directly to the left.”
“You’ve got a lot to learn about me, Murdock. Because I don’t need a glass," she scoffs, crossing to the kitchen.
He stops at the edge of the counter, shaking his head at her as she arrives at the fridge and reaches into the cabinet above. “Oh, I know. The glass is for me so that I get some amount of whiskey before you drink the entire bottle.”
"Fast learner. Maybe you’re not as dumb as I thought," she says, smirking.
“Wow. Now, that is the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
She downs a hefty swig and shrugs. “I’m feeling magnanimous today. But don’t count on that continuing.”
“I don’t know. I think I’m growing on you, Jones.”
“Don’t push your luck, Murdock.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” ---

The man blinks, surprised, but nods his head a few times, considering. “What about sight? You didn’t mention that. Is that enhanced, too?”
“No.”
“And why not?” the man asks with an air of petulance, as though personally offended by Matt’s answer.
“Because I’m blind,” Matt says with a shrug and a flat, matter of fact tone.
This catches the man’s attention again. “What? Really? Come here,” he says and waggles his index finger, beckoning Matt over.
Matt tries to resist, to fight the compulsion driving him to comply, he really does, but it’s as if he’s being controlled remotely and this man works the control panel. The desire builds subtly, like a fog. But as it rolls into his mind and down his spine, it wraps around his ankles. And then his feet move of their own volition, leading him to stand in front of the man.
“Take off your mask.”

What if Matt met Kilgrave? And then, what if he met Jessica before the events of The Defenders? Canon AU set in JJ S1 in which Matt meets Kilgrave and learns first-hand what it's like to suffer under his control, until Jessica helps him escape.

But the way the rubble fell wasn’t slow. The building imploded in a clash of noise and sound and suddenly there was nothing, no building, no Midland Circle, no Hand to be defeated, no more problem, but no Matt. Like he’d never been there at all.
But the looks Karen Page and Foggy Nelson had on their faces when Jess, Luke, and Danny walked back to the police station, Matt nowhere to be seen, were proof that he had in fact existed. And he left people behind.

“I could punch you in the throat?” Jessica suggested, raising her eyebrow at him in challenge.
He did that little helpless smile she remembered him doing when she was angry at him. She hated that she still remembered the differences between his smiles. “You could. It wouldn’t be very nice.”
“You died, Murdock, and then you came back and you didn’t even call. I think we’re past being nice.”

Jessica Jones finally can hang up her cape and crack open a bottle, after the "Defenders" took down the Hand-Foot-Kneecap-Immortal-Vampire-Wizard-Cult (or whatever it's called). Leave the world-saving to the Avengers...she's got a case to crack.
When she finds Matthew Murdock on her doorstep, Jessica wants no part of his mask-wearing, horn-bearing antics. Especially after he pulled the rug out from under her and their ragtag group of heroes and got crushed by a building with his psycho ex-girlfriend (who rose from the fucking dead). Apparently, chivalry isn't dead, and neither is the Daredevil -- who needs her help to acquit an ordinary man caught up in an extraordinary shit-show of super-crime.
With Devil-Boy and Super Joan Jett on the case, things are bound to get messy. Especially when the two can't stop bickering. But as the two work together towards some type of justice, the demons of their past conveniently come to bite them in the ass...and the two discover they just might be more alike than they think.

Jessica Jones has many flaws and fears. Her short fuse has her storming into the midst of the Battle of New York; her paranoia has her keeping the Avengers at arms' length. But she isn't the only one dealing with paranoia and PTSD. Tony Stark seems to be spiralling in Stark Tower all alone, and sometimes Jessica just gives a damn.

Pain flares in Tony's jaw when his teeth grind together. One hand curls into a fist on the desk and his knuckles turn white from the force of it. "You are a tremendously difficult person to have any kind of relationship with, you know that?" he bites out, his voice cold and devoid of any hint of playfulness he'd normally be able to employ.
"So stop trying," Jessica retorts emphatically.
Tony's chin drops to his chest and he heaves a sigh, his brow furrowing. Through the haze of his anger, the rearing head of nauseating guilt, he has a sharp moment of clarity. "You'll seriously hit as low as you can just to put people off, huh?"
