Clark thinks Lois might prefer Conner to him now, not that he blames her for it) and wandering around the Fortress of Solitude with a small palm tucked into his own, Clark hasn't stopped grinning, "Superman is no longer the only Kryptonian alive."

"What's your name, son?" the old guy–Jonathan, Superman tries to think, because thinking "Pa" sounds way too intimidating right now–Jonathan asks. Superman knows what he wants to say, but . . .
But for the first time, saying "Superman" doesn't feel . . . honest.
"Experiment Thirteen," he admits in a mutter, hiding his hands behind his back after all, and both Jonathan and Martha's faces tighten.

A quiet knock on the door – so soft, he almost thinks it had been part of a dream – pulls Jason awake. Groaning, he checks the time on his phone. Two in the morning. Another knock, barely louder than the first. He stares at the ceiling for a long moment. What the fuck could someone want at two fucking a.m.? He almost pulls the blanket over his head, ready to ignore it. Then they knock a third time. Faster. Desperate?
Cursing under his breath, Jason rolls out of bed and shuffles toward the door, pausing to grab a handgun and tucking it into his waistband, just in case. Opens the door as far as the chain will allow.
He finds Tim slumped against the door frame. He starts when the door opens, like he hadn’t expected it would. When he looks up, his eyes are hollow, face pale. His lip is split and swollen, and he’s got the makings of a black eye blooming over his right cheekbone. “Jason…” he croaks.

He would simply appear as a distraction to visually dissect his new tech, and figure out his weaknesses and any more information that would be helpful to the two of them in taking him and his allies down, and then disappear before any real collateral damage could occur.
This was a good plan, even Bruce grunted in gothic agreement when he had explained himself.
It would have been perfect, Tim thinks. if it had gone down that way.
Or: a more realistic (albeit fanon) fic about the Batfam drugging Tim, because having your food & drink tampered with isn't wholesome at all.

“It’s your job, Damian, to try to stop it. Don’t trust anyone unless you have enough evidence and reason to. I’m afraid I can’t say much more. The fate of the world is in your hands, Damian.” Video-Damian lets out a shaky breath. “Please don’t mess it up.”
Damian waits for several seconds after the recording ends for anything. For a sign that this is a joke, that it’s not true.
There isn’t any.
