If Yan Wushi’s demonic core hadn’t been fully healed, or if he hadn’t brought the medicine he had prepared in advance he wouldn’t know what he would’ve done. It would’ve destroyed him to know that Yan Wushi died fighting Hulugu before he would’ve been truly ready, all for Shen Qiao’s sake. The selfless acts of a selfish man.

And with the added weight to his eyelid comes more effort diverted from painting to keeping it open. And the more he works, the less motivation he has to continue, to bring this godforsaken assignment to completion.
It’s an endless loop.
