Maybe Cabeswater needed something and Adam had accidentally tuned it out, so it sent its dreamer to go get him. Maybe Gansey pissed him off and he wanted to rant. There were honestly endless possibilities for Ronan turning up at his door at four in the morning. Adam expected pretty much anything.

    Somehow, watching his face crumple into tears was unexpected.
