Summary
Jiaoqiu nearly died. -Nearly, but he didn't. He hadn't thought about the aftermath if he lived. Just this once, he lacked a plan B, and it happened: he lived, but nothing could go back to how it used to be.
All he can do is putting up a smile and press on living, pretending everything is alright, feigning normalcy, and not worry others too much. Yet it's only a matter of time before repressed feelings surface.
He didn't want to die, but he already accepted his death.

Oh, perhaps he should swap the osmanthus wine with osmanthus tea next time. It will be as beneficial for the Yaoqing's public property as it is for her health. Jiaoqiu nods and smiles behind his fan, his tail gaining a little, playful sway.
"Something about your smile doesn't reassure me, Jiaoqiu." Feixiao slurs, and Jiaoqiu can literally imagine the way her eyes narrow down on him.
His voice is light, masking the underlying mischief as he replies with a small chuckle. "Whatever are you talking about, Feixiao?" Jiaoqiu shakes his head while lightly waving his fan. "I'm merely contemplating tomorrow's menu."
Or, it's a peaceful night of the mid-autumn festival for the Yaoqing trio!

Perhaps he and Feixiao have more in common than they originally thought.
