He had that classic suave look down to a T. Combed back hair, dark eyes. One tanned hand still rested on the steering wheel holding a half smoked cigarette. The other arm leaned on the center console. He looked like he'd driven straight out of an ad for marlboros. Freddy thought of old Hollywood. "Yes, sir." Will answered.
The cop left after an awkward beat and Will slammed the door closed, wrapping the blankets more tightly around himself. He looked down at the card.
Domestic abuse hotline.
He threw the offending card in the front into the pile of trash. He scowled at it. Did he really read that easy? He buried his head under the blankets. He refused to admit it. He didn't want help. He was fine on his own.

Summary
There's no choice in whether Will wants to cooperate in the M.C.P's jobs. It's required of him, it's his duty, and Will would have been lying if he said he got absolutely nothing out of it. What sort of life would he have if he wasn't in a facility? He couldn't pass as a normal person, not with his eyes, and he can't touch people without them dying.
It's better for him in here, where he can do something good with what he's been given.
(AU in which Will Graham is a government secret, Hannibal Lecter is a cannibalistic super-villain, and Jack Crawford's attempts to keep them from colliding seem to fail in any universe where they might coexist)

Summary
Zuko had never excelled at anything. Azula was a prodigy. Uncle always knew what to say. And Father... Father was strong, iron-like. But Zuko had only ever been good at surviving. Putting one foot in front of the other in a grim show of stubborn determination, gritting his teeth and bearing it. Survival was all he had ever been taught. He knew how to do it. So when he was kidnapped by the Southern Water Tribe, he expected to fight as he always had. He didn’t expect to be taught instead how to live.
In a warring land, the Water Tribe forgave the enemy in an act of defiance. For this, he was torn from them, and this time, his wounds won't heal so easily.
Forced back into nothing but survival, the last person Zuko expected to see was Hakoda's son. Hakoda was a promise of safety. The relentless blue of Sokka’s eyes was a promise of happiness. Zuko could have both if he just reached out his hands, but he found them clutching into fists. After all, he’d been burned one too many times.
But hey, at least between Hakoda and Sokka, Zuko could appreciate the family resemblance of pure, asinine stubbornness.
