Summary
Mike’s had a lifetime of experience pretending to be chill.
From a young age he’s learned that the easiest way to get by in life is by acting completely unaffected by everything. When you grow up in a small, judgmental town with the parents Mike has, it kinda comes with the territory.
So far it’s managed to work pretty well for him; after all, he’s made it through three years of high school with his body and his dignity mostly intact, and he’s got some pretty sick battle scars to prove it.
All of that seems to go out the window whenever it comes to Will.
So Mike does what he does best and tries to keep Will at an arm’s length, to keep him close but not that close, so that Will won’t be able to see through his poorly concealed thoughts and get scared off.
This time it’s different, though.
Things have changed, somehow, for some reason.
Or
Mike has never been a jealous person. In fact, he prides himself on not being easy to read—that is, until Will comes out to him, and suddenly, the thought of him hanging out with other people forces Mike to confront the complicated feelings that he’s been running from before he loses Will for good.

Summary
Will raised an eyebrow at his friend's antics, then dropped his eyes to where he knew Dustin had reached a hand out towards him.
“This summer, we stick together. You and me, Byers.”
Will grinned, taking Dustin’s hand and shaking it. “You and me, Henderson.”
A rewrite of S3:
The night Dustin gets back from Camp Knowhere, he brings the Party up to the highest point in Hawkins to set up Cerebro. He thought that his friends would be excited to have him back-- even if it wasn't the most entertaining to sit on a hill and talk into a radio with no response, he thought they would at least wait for him before going home. He thought it was going to be the best summer ever.
Instead, he finds himself and the one friend that didn't leave him, Will Byers, intercepting a weird Russian transmission.
And, well... if he couldn't have the best summer ever, at least he and Will would have an eventful one.

"Steve? What are you doing here?"
Steve spread his arms, with a grin and Dustin noticed a camera in his hands.
"It's your first day of high school!"
Or:
It is Dustin's first day of high school and whether or not his mother commemorates it, Steve Harrington is at his door early in the morning waiting to take his first adopted kid/best friend/brother to school.
I had this idea while reading a fanfiction about Eddie taking care of Max, and even though the two are unrelated, how could I have this idea and not write it down? Seriously, how...

Summary
"El, wait," Mike calls out, desperation lacing his voice, stopping her in her tracks. "El, please, think about the painting—the one you commissioned from Will. It's a symbol of... of us, of what we have together," Mike blurts out.
El stops, her body language a mix of curiosity and confusion as she turns to face him. "Commission?" The word hangs in the air, foreign and misplaced in the context of their conversation.
"Exactly, you know, like asking someone to paint something... specifically," Mike tries to clarify, assuming a misunderstanding of terms is at play. "The D&D painting. I'm the heart?" He attempts to jog her memory with details, hoping for a spark of recognition.
"Mike, I really don't understand what you're talking about."
or
During an unexpected breakup with El, Mike discovers the truth about the painting, leading to a confrontation with Will. In the heat of their argument, an unforeseen twist transports them both into the eerie and dangerous realm of the Upside Down.

He can picture it all so clearly; popping Tylenol like they were candy, waking up with a scream and in a cold sweat, and a drop of blood spilling from his nose and onto his character sheet during a hellfire session.

Denki gets kidnapped while on a snack run for class movie night, Class A does not take it well.
______________________________________________
Denki knew the smell encasing his mind, it was familiar, almost fatherly. His brain knew the soft fabric that accompanied the familiar scent meant him no harm. He couldn’t articulate that into words, far too weak to say all that.
“Smells,” he mumbled while nuzzling the fabric more. Denki could feel the chest he was laid against rumble. He was cutting in and out, but he knew he heard a gruff yet tender voice go,
‘What…smell…like’
Denki mustered up all his strength, gulping down what little saliva his body could produce to quench his dry throat and heavy tongue. In what was probably his weakest voice he ever had, Denki muttered a single word.
“Home”
And just like that, Denki was out cold.
