Summary
Aaron holds up one of his hands, attempting to calm the wild Pokémon down. “Take it easy now. I’m not here to hurt you. I don’t want to fight you if I don’t have to.”
He expects the Pokémon to continue growling in response.
Instead, he hears a voice in his mind:
“You snuck up behind me. That is always a mistake.”
Aaron’s eyes go wide. “You… How can you speak the Common Tongue?”

Many, many centuries ago – long before Ash Ketchum or Professor Oak or even the invention of the Pokéball – parts of the Pokémon world were made up of kingdoms, ruled by kings and queens.In the kingdom of Rota, there lived an Aura Guardian named Sir Aaron and his apprentice, Lucario. There, Sir Aaron mentored Lucario in the ways of Aura. When war erupts between the two kingdoms that flank Rota’s borders, Sir Aaron must find a way to keep his kingdom safe in the crossfire, and Lucario must finally put all his training to good use.
(Or: this is a fic about Sir Aaron and Lucario in the years before Sir Aaron sacrificed himself to save Rota, as shown in Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.)

Summary
“Stand down, soldier,” Price commands.
The only thing that can override Simon’s deep-seeded instincts is his Captain giving him a direct order. Price has that natural leader’s voice that just compels him to listen.
It is the voice of the man he trusts more than anyone. Of course he will listen, without question or hesitation.
So Simon obeys his Captain. His muscles untense, his hand falls away from his knife.
Price is down to the filter of his cigarette. He takes the last drag of it, meeting Simon’s eyes as he exhales the smoke. “Good lad.”

Ghost and Price have a close bond, but they never acknowledge it. That is, until Ghost is forced to show the most vulnerable side of himself to his Captain. Price will always be there for Ghost when panicked thoughts overwhelm him.Or: Price and Ghost’s relationship – back when he was just Simon Riley, and after he becomes Ghost.

“I thought you…” Zelda's voice is quiet, barely above a whisper. “I thought you despised me.”
Link’s eyes widen with shock. Zelda can practically see the way his mind races with thoughts – thoughts so intangible and unknown to her, hidden behind his ever-present silence.
Then Link kneels. He bows his head, as if his eyes are unworthy of gazing upon her.
“I could never despise you, Your Highness.” His voice is full of more emotion than Zelda has ever heard from him – such an intense, honest reverence. “I… I live to serve you.”

No prophecy or destiny is more important to Link than his responsibilities as Princess Zelda's personal knight. He would follow her anywhere - a fact proven by his strangely familiar dreams. At first, Zelda dislikes the knight that her father insists must accompany her everywhere. But over time, they grow incredibly close.As time goes by, Zelda contemplates her role as Princess, while Link tries to figure out the meaning of his dreams - which have started to feel more like memories.
Or: A closer look at Link, Zelda, and their relationship throughout the events of BotW, (eventually TotK too,) and during parts of their lives not shown by the games.

He trails off, and there’s a moment where his and Phoenix’s eyes meet. Phoenix raises an eyebrow at him – asking the silent question that has rested between them for years.
“…Friends,” Edgeworth curtly finishes his sentence, his eyes flicking away. “Friends help each other, don’t they?”

For the past several years, Phoenix and Miles have grown to care very deeply about each other - although, they don’t tend to state their feelings out loud. In the seven years that Phoenix is disbarred, Miles helps him get his badge back. He even helps to raise Phoenix’s new daughter, Trucy, as if she were Miles’s own daughter as well. He and Phoenix never define their relationship aloud, but it’s clear that they are very close.Not too long after Phoenix finally gets his badge back, he and Trucy are forced to move out of their apartment. Miles offers that they stay with him. After all, he and Phoenix are… very close.
Or: Miles Edgeworth is on the ace/aro spectrum and is deeply in love with Phoenix Wright.

When Phil comes across Ranboo in his panic room after L'Manberg's destruction, it reminds him of when he first met Technoblade. And just like when he met Techno, Phil's first instinct is that he has to help this kid. While living together, Techno and Ranboo learn that they're much more similar than they had previously thought. Techno reflects on his past and how he got to be who he is today. And Phil learns that it's not too late for him to be a better dad.(This is NOT RPF!! THIS IS ABOUT THE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS that they play on the Dream SMP!! It is NOT about the creators!!)

Summary
When Zuko brought up the idea of Sokka staying in the Fire Nation as a permanent representative of the Water Tribe, he wasn't thinking about all of the ways it could go wrong.
Zuko is emphatically not going to do anything about the way he feels. He's not going to stare at Sokka, and he's not going to spend any time alone with him, and he's definitely, definitely not going to think about what it would be like to hold Sokka's face in his hands.
Zuko's not going to do anything at all, because he can't shake the absolute certainty that that's the only way they both get out of this alive.
