“Lestat,” Louis approaches him, doing so without caution, believing he needs none. It turns out to be a grave mistake. Lestat slips away, dragging himself across the floor to take shelter between the wall and the nightstand. He puts his hands in front of his face when Louis tries to reach him, as if—as if Louis were going to hit him. “Love—you’re scaring me. Tell me what’s going on?”
Lestat gasps for air; his breathing grows increasingly labored. Louis fears, with scornful sincerity, that he’ll end up collapsing from suffocation, forgetting that he doesn’t need to breathe.
“Les, baby—let go of those sheets, they’re dirty.”
“Je ne le re-referai plus,” he sobs, rubbing his palms against his eyes, precariously wiping away the copious, heavy tears, while clutching his knees to his chest. “Je ne le referai plus, je vais bi-bie-bien me tenir, je vais tout- tout ranger. The hand is intact too. There is a small brownish mole on his wrist, so similar to Lestat's—but no, it must be ash that accidentally fell on that exact spot. His fist is clenched, curled up on itself. It is a typical sign of suffering, one that Louis has learned to recognize in the hands of all his victims. He can see a ring on his ring finger. It is a beautiful gold wedding band, adorned with two emeralds at each end. It is the same as Lestat's.
OR
Lestat dies during Mardi Gras, his body burning before Louis has the sense to pull him from the flames.
Sooner or later, while wandering around Europe, he becomes obsessed with the concept of resurrection.Series

He could never fully grieve her death, nor did he ever process the sex trafficking and abuse that he experienced at the hands of Magnus and Santino when he was a child, along with several others, including Armand. Louis must regain Lestat's trust after being manipulated by Armand for years into believing that Lestat was at fault for everything that happened to them.

In a world where Louis believed he'd actually killed Lestat, he meets him again, but now he's apparently a famous singer and doesn't know who Louis is at all. Will they find their way back to each other?
Lots of Lestat and Daniel being friends bc that trope should get more attention, regretful Louis who'd made too many mistakes, Lestat without any of his past burdens enjoying the 21st century and so on and on. Just read into it. My summery skills are not the greatest, you can ask my teachers.
