Nobody had questioned Shadow’s use of his pistol to take down the machines. It was hardly even given a thought – Shadow simply does as he pleases, and they were well used to this by now. Nor did anyone notice the distinctive snap-click of the gun being reloaded, the noise masked by settling dust and creaking metal. What Sonic and his friends did hear, however, was nothing short of alarming.
Shadow was laughing. Not the slight chuckle or amused ‘hmph’ one might rarely earn from the stoic hedgehog, but a deep, full laugh. It was completely devoid of warmth. Crazed. Disturbing.OR

Tom was frozen. He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t move. Couldn’t look away.
Then Shadow shifted again, tucking his face down into the couch cushion.----

Shadow tries not to feel too disappointed when he wakes up on Earth, in the middle of a large crater in a forest of evergreens, alive and in enough pain that his breath stutters in his chest.
He doesn’t get to die, he thinks, nearly reduced to tears as he stares at the blue sky and tries to remember how to breathe.
This is atonement. He doesn’t get to get away from his pain this easily.
Or; an exploration of Shadow's grief and guilt and fear.
Or; Shadow is no longer property, and he does not know what to do with this knowledge that feels more constricting than freeing.

A loud creaking noise attacked his eardrums and suddenly a yellow light was pooling into the dark room, making Shoto squint against the harshness of it. He made out the initial outline of the mysterious, white-eyed man from earlier on the street. His foggy brain piecing things together slowly but surely.
OR; Endeavor continues to ruin the lives of other people with his brash, crudeness but he also seems to continue ruining Shoto’s life as the youngest Todoroki member was kidnapped and held for a disturbingly high ransom price.

Summary
Here Shouto is, sitting in a hospital room with a detective who can tell with absolute certainty whether or not someone is lying, ready to hide and falsify and bend the truth as much as he possibly can. He has a plan, he just needs to make sure that it works.
“Did you recognize the individual who attacked you and killed your father?” Detective Tsukauchi asks, pen and notebook in hand.
Shouto envisions a shadowy figure with indistinct features punching himself in the gut and stabbing his father in the chest with an unknown object. The figure doesn’t look like anyone he knows, doesn’t really look like anyone at all. “No.” he says. Detective Tsukauchi nods, smiling reassuringly at Shouto before writing down his answer, and Shouto fights the urge to smile himself.
How can you lie to someone that can’t be lied to? Apparently, all you have to do is tell the truth—about a fictional story that you make up in your head as you go.
Shouto doesn’t know why he was worried. If he’d known how easy it would be to get away with it, he would have killed his father years ago.

Or, Todoroki Shouto murders his father and blames it on the Bogeyman. It works surprisingly well, until it doesn’t.

His mother, the burn from wandering too close.
His brothers, personalities like spitfires and infernos.
His sister, the soothing warmth he could lean back on.And in turn, it would only make sense that Shouto was set aflame too.
A lightning storm is about to start, and fire will be one of the many things left in it’s wake.

“And what if we decide their help is unnecessary,” Izuku asked. He and Bakugou made a good team. A better than good team.
“If you do not want to work with us, then the case will no longer be your concern,” the man said, “But I assure you these heroes are the best. However, my recommendation, the one we need for this case, is on top.”
Both heroes looked at the case file in sync. The only print on the top file: Ghost.
Midoriya and Bakuogu are tasked with working with another hero in order to find and stop villains from unleashing a bioweapon, blind to the fact that the hero, known only as Ghost, knows more about them than he's letting on. He intends to keep it that way.

Shoto was born to be a hero in the most literal sense possible. It’s a fate he thought he escaped when he ran away from home some months ago. He’d chosen to forfeit a life in a manor, never wanting for anything material, to scrape the back alleys for even a hint of food. It was a worthy trade, in his opinion, for no luxury item or amenity was worth the expectations and heavy hands, the lack of love, of hope, of self-identity. If he had stayed, he’d lose his humanity, a notion that frightened him far more than death ever could.
He’d thought he had escaped the path laid out for him since before his conception.
Fate, however, does not like to be denied and his is a fate that seems intent on finding him.

Shouto is accidentally rewound by Eri’s quirk in the middle of a villain attack, reverting him to a small child with no memories of his future. Dabi takes the opportunity to bring Shouto with him to the League of Villains headquarters to remove him from Endeavor’s clutches.
