It should be easy for someone as perfect as Scout to break the curse, right?

“He.” Achilles corrects sharply. His eyes leave Patroclus's face only to glare at his father. “He. Not it. He's a person.”
He, Patroclus thinks. He. He's a person. A switch in his processing, in his thought. The LED ring in his forehead swirls, blue into flickering yellow into blue again. It–he–isn't a person, he knows. But if it will comfort Achilles to say so, then Patroclus will oblige.

Or, the d:bh-inspired au where Patroclus is an android bought to keep Achilles out of trouble. His memories have been corrupted beyond repair, and a close relationship is ripped back to square one, much to Achilles's dismay. But those memories are all that Patroclus is, and restoring them could be the key to--or the end of--everything.

Summary
When filling out the application, he was very detailed in his skill set. Writing, editing, research, filing, archival work, that sort of thing. Really, the opportunity to work in some sort of local publication’s office or town history archive would’ve been rather pleasant! That’s what he was expecting, anyway.
Those expectations flew out the window and all the way back to London when his shuttle pulled up to a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere….God, where was he? What state bordered Georgia? Louisiana? Kansas? Didn’t matter. Apparently, twenty hours a week, he was going to be the part-time summer farmhand.
Brilliant.
