Which makes it all the more surprising when Azula tracks the Avatar down and fights his group of peasant friends, only to find herself staring into an eerily familiar face.

Summary
Lu Ten, sealed away for six years under Lake Laogai by Ozai's traitorous hands, has been freed by his cousin Zuko. But all he can see in him is the man that sold him out to rot - all he can see in him is the usurper that took his father's throne. Iroh, unaware of the bile that Lu Ten spits at Zuko whenever they're alone, encourages his beloved sons to spend more time together.
It all comes to a head in the ugliest of ways.

Summary
“It’s healing really well.” Katara tells him with a smile, before her lips quirk down into a frown. “Though it’ll still scar pretty bad.”
Zuko shrugs. “It’s ok. I doubt people will really focus on it anyway… the one on my face is a bit more prominent.”
Katara makes a face, like she’s not quite sure if she should laugh or frown, when Toph speaks up.
“You have a scar on your face?” Toph asks, sitting up so she’s sitting by his legs rather than lying on them.
Zuko blinks. He never quite forgets that Toph is blind, but the fact that she can’t see his scar never really occurred to him.
“Oh, yeah.” Zuko looks down at his lap. “My father burned like, half my face off before I was banished.” He says it a little too casually, probably not bitterly enough.
A crash next to him makes him look up, to see Katara's horrified expression, and a shattered bowl of water at her feet.
No one says anything for a long moment.
“Zuko… it- your dad?” Katara finally manages to gasp out. Zuko blinks at her, his brain moving slowly.
“You didn’t know?” He asks in genuine surprise.
“No.” Sokka wheezes.
Zuko blinks at him. “Oh.” Is all he can manage to say.

Zuko never expected to be here again, standing outside the old restaurant he’d watched his own father build and then destroy over time.
But here he stood, outside the old pizzeria, once bright and dazzling and filled with smiling, happy families… now abandoned and left for dust. Not as a guest, or even as the great Ozai’s son.
But as a night guard…
It wasn’t his first choice… but it was his only choice. There wasn’t much else in this small town he called home. And unfortunately, being an adult meant taking responsibility, even if that responsibility was getting a job at a crappy pizzeria to keep a roof over your head… then so be it.
OR;
Zuko returns to the once infamous restaurant owned by his father, as the new night guard and accidentally stumbles into a murder mystery.

Summary
For a moment he focused on what seemed to be the truth. Zuko was once again seven years old. He was no longer thirty nor was he Fire Lord, so he had to do away with that mindset. Zuko was seven and had just excelled at his first ever Firebending lessons. Azula was five and still unsure of her role in the universe, his Mother was still with him, Ozai was plotting to take the throne, and Aang was twelve and frozen in a block of ice.
Zuko has been Fire Lord for over twenty years when he falls into the past. Quickly realizing he is a combatant in the battle for Azula's soul, he also comes to understand that ---as her older brother--- he has the chance to be the only player in the game.

After Zuko returns to the Fire Nation but before the all-important eclipse, a group of visitors stumble out of a Stargate hidden in the Fire Archives and into a very tense political situation. Ozai believes their arrival foretells the success of his plan for world domination. Zuko...doesn't have an opinion. He has far too much going on in his own life to care about a few new people in court, no matter where they came from.
But Zuko doesn't need to go looking for trouble for it to find him and Jack O'Neil of SG1 is very good at causing trouble for murderous alien dictators.

The temples may have been destroyed, but the Air Nomads lived on, hidden wherever they could find shelter. It wasn’t easy. There was many things they had to sacrifice in the name of staying hidden.
But other things they were able to keep safe. Despite the Fire Nations best efforts, they were not destroyed. Now after 100 years, the War is over, and the Avatar sets out to find the last of his people.

King Kuei reclaimed his kingdom from the hands of the Dai Li and is trying his hardest to take everything back under control.
But then, he discovers that he has a supposedly dead Prince Zuko in his custody. The Dai Li had kidnapped the eleven-year-old prince shortly after the Siege of Ba Sing Se has fallen. They attempted to ransom him back, but the newly crowned Fire Lord Ozai showed no interest. The child has been locked away within the Dai Li’s walls ever since.
Kuei is NOT okay with this.
He needs to scream. He will do that. But first he needs to get the boy out of that nightmare.--

Summary
Five years ago Zuko had gone to bed on the second anniversary of his banishment, that night he woke up drowning at sea only to be saved by a bunch of weird pirates with a crazy shirtless firebending captain, a few weeks later they managed to turn the prince into a pirate. After many adventures and tragedies, the feared Firefang finally died on the shores of Laugh Tale paying back his debt to his old captain.
But instead of dying he woke up back on his world a few years into the past, a man who has tasted the freedom of the sea can't go back to serving under a crazy lord so it was time for the elemental nations to lose a prince and gain a pirate.
It was his turn to get a new crew to turn the world upside down.
