Summary
After following a hunch that leads to a physical encounter with Fisk in Riker's prison, Matt finds out that he is pregnant. Despite it being Wilson Fisk's child, Matt decides to keep the baby and now is faced with the monstrous challenges of pregnancy, parenthood, and protecting his family from Fisk's crosshairs.
[OR a rewrite of the S2x10 prison scene, resulting in Matt carrying Fisk's child in the gap between S2 and the Defenders. Matt finds support in his friends as he rebuilds the relationships he destroyed in S2, and his city that raised him, while he explores what pregnancy holds for his already very complicated life.]

However when the dust finally settles, he finds himself teetering between balance and imbalance in a world that moved on without him in it, in a city that seemed to no longer need him, haunted by the demons of his past and desperate to hold onto those he hadn't failed to save.

When he gets back from his brief getaway in another universe, Peter feels different. Hopeful and motivated, his brain is racing with plans even before he’s pulled himself out of his universe’s giant, fallen shield-free version of New York Harbor. By the time he’s back to his undecorated, barely furnished studio apartment, he’s composed a to-do list in his head. It’s not specific enough to be called a plan—just goals, small and large, mostly vague, probably all of them too ambitious—but Peter feels good today, high off a fight that ended well and a comradery he hasn’t had in years. He’s sad it was all over so quickly, but he’s home now, feeling alive. Feeling ready.

The Elven king has fallen pregnant. It is normal in elven culture to labor publically, because elven labor can last for months. Labor and birth is mundane, easy. Escpecially the king should be strong enough to bear his pregnancy with grace. But what if everything is not as it should be?

Summary
Maybe he had been wrong and this life as a martyr had never been his calling. Maybe God had a different path in mind for him. But if that were the case, what was the purpose of having him go blind and letting his father die, of heightening his other senses so much that it made it nearly impossible for him to find any peace? Did God just want to cause him pain? To punish him?
He hated that thought, the idea that the baby was a punishment. They didn’t ask to be conceived under such violent circumstances. They didn’t deserve to come into the world with this black cloud hanging over them. To be born to a father that both loved and resented them in equal measure.What if Matt’s distraction during the Punisher trial wasn’t caused by the situation with Elektra and The Hand? What if he was dealing with the aftermath of something much worse?
