“That’s- that’s all you have?” The man seems shocked, but Tommy doesn’t know why he would be. There’s nothing about him that really screams ‘wealthy and important’.
“I’m a broke college student- of course that’s all I have.”

Summary
Therapists always told him to try and put his heart back together so he could start a new life.
Every time his answer was the same to them.
“How can I put my heart back together when it's shattered into a million pieces? When I can’t find them all, even when I search every part of the room, every crack, every corner. Do you understand why I can’t tape up my shattered heart?”
Every time the therapist would respond “No I don't, would you like to tell me why?”
Then like clock-work Tommy would stare them down and deliver the line that he had been saying for years, that weighed down on every part of his body, threatening to crush his bones and drown him in his sorrow.
“It’s because part of it is missing and being held captive by people I barely remember.”
__________________In a world with hybrids and powers, villains and heros, you can never be too careful.
Tommy has been abused and passed through so many foster homes he's lost count.
He has three rules.
Never look back, ever. Never trust anyone. Never get attached.When Tommy finds out that some rich family has taken an interest in him he can't help but wonder why. I mean he's just a normal teenage kid...right?

A trident is placed under Phil’s chin and Tommy can feel his heart shatter.

(Yes the title is from sofia the first, yes I'm laughing at it, I find it funny-)
In which Phil has created the Antarctic Empire from the ground up and takes in Techno and Wilbur along the way, and raises them while also ruling his kingdom. Tommy, sixteen, lives with Tubbo in an orphanage, the two of them running around in the cold streets of their town.
After a hectic day of getting separated from Tubbo, getting into a few fights, and ending up in an entirely new town, he comes across Phil, and saves him from an assassination attempt by smashing a plate over someone's head.
So then both Techno and Wilbur decide to see who this kid is, and Tommy sure is endearing, in the way that the first time they spy on him, he starts a fight in an alleyway over a bag of cookies.
(and then Tommy basically gets kidnapped into the royal family, but like, legally, y’know?)

The city of L'manburg was beautiful, Tommy thought, despite all of it's many glaring flaws. It had a history in corrupt politicians and less than shiny districts that went overlooked. Heroes, sworn to protect the city, who had been arrested for secretly helping criminals. But Tommy still loved the city, deep down. He grew up here, in the heart of it all, watching heroes and supervillains fight. At the age of seventeen, he had already seen far too much of the violence L'manburg could offer. So, screw him, if when Wilbur offered him a chance to stay with his family, he decided to try living a peaceful life for once. Tommy Innes is the biggest man— gigantic, even— and he figured that maybe he deserved to know what being normal was.
So he had been naïve enough to think he could. He took Wilbur's offer, he put away his vigilante mask, and—
"Tommy," Phil had said. “I am also the hero named Zephyrus.”
The man that wanted to adopt him was also the man that wanted him in jail.

“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
