    Summary

A new set of footsteps, unsteady, uneven, makes their way down the hall, this time seemingly slowly getting closer to Buck's hiding place. Buck holds his breath. It doesn't sound like the shooter, but he doesn't want to take any chances.

He hears a stifled groan followed by heavy breathing. Something about it makes Buck's ears perk up, waking something up inside his brain.

    Smack!

What sounds like a wet hand slaps a wall, as if someone's leaning their whole body weight into it, followed by a rapid clicking noise.

“C’mon,” the person mumbles under their breath, clearly frustrated and strained.

Buck's heart drops. He knows that voice. It might be barely audible over the pounding of his heart in his ears, but he'd recognize that voice anywhere.

    It's Eddie.

    Summary

Two facts are facing Evan Buckley
    1. After the Lawsuit Buck is on the outs with his team at the 118.
    2. When he was doing his recertification test before falling ill to the Pulmonary Embolism he got a job offer from Owen Strand to join them at the 126.
Now almost 5 months later he is still being treated less then dirt at the 118. Maybe it’s time to move. Now if only he can get through a shift and doesn’t screw up at this new place everything would be great.

    Summary

The call is supposed to be simple: find the missing child, get out before the gas exposure gets dangerous, and don't get lost in the oversized children's play maze.

Buck manages one of those things.

Eddie heroically goes in after him and things would definetly be easier if Buck stopped talking,

    "Your hands are on me."

"Because I'm trying to keep you conscious."

    "That's hot."

Eddie chokes so violently that for one horrifying second he thinks he might actually die inside a jungle-themed play maze.

    OR

Buck gets a little too much gas exposure, Eddie has to rescue him from a children's tube slide, and certain secrets don't stay secret for long.

    Summary

The bunk creaks as Eddie stands up and takes a step towards him with that unreadable look on his face. It makes Buck's insides squirm, and his mouth continues to run away from him because now that he's started talking, he can't seem to stop.

"And now everything's weird. I can't walk into work without being shunned like I'm some sort of criminal, just for simply wanting what I should have gotten in the first place. It's—it's all wrong, and it just makes me want to, I don't even know—"

    "Punch someone?"

It's the first thing Eddie has said to him all day that sounds like a concession. An olive branch, maybe, or perhaps Buck is coming to realise just how right Eddie is.

    He huffs. "Yeah, a little."

    Or

Following an argument with Eddie on Halloween night, Buck doesn't stop at the gas station on his way home.

…And instead finds himself in an underground fighting ring.
