For you, adult life was seemingly one disappointment after another. You came to Tokyo because things were supposed to be different here.
Then came the herculean task of finding a job in a city that you knew little about, let alone had friends or family in. Did you want to be applying to various bars in a shady neighborhood in Tokyo? No. Did you have much of a choice? Also no. But you were desperate, and tired of eating pre-packaged ramen.

Or, Takemichi died and instead of finding himself in a new timeline, it’s a new universe.
(As a lot of people ask in the comment, the final pairing is litteraly Takemichi with all the men I mentionned in the tags!)
