Summary
A year after her final haul, Anya finds herself trying to survive in the world as the dead rise. Days of wandering later, she finds a group in the middle of Georgia, led by a (now) former Airforce Admin Officer. While she struggles to trust anyone (and furthering the gap with several omissions and lies of her own doing), being around Lilly gives her more comfort than she’s had for a while.
As with Lilly, she too struggles to strike a balance between taking charge of the group, maintaining safety, and trying to survive herself. With the newcomer, it does feel like things might be easier, though...The self-proclaimed nurse seems to be very closed off. Just what is she hiding? Why does Lilly seem to care so much about a virtual stranger?The way she said her name was odd. Not “odd” in a terrible way, rather something that the nurse couldn’t explain. As Lilly left her room, Anya didn’t close the door until she was out of her sight.
And now she was alone again.
(A crossover fic between Anya from Mouthwashing and Lilly from The Walking Dead Telltale games. This takes place during Season One and leans more towards that universe more than Mouthwashing. Very self-indulgent fic ahead.) -

The pouts she’d give when Celine said they couldn’t go and get another teddy bear (and the inevitable moment when she’d fold and take her to add another friend to the collection). The few times she’d show Rumi her old performances. The light in Rumi’s eyes just like her mother’s once had. The way Rumi asked if hunters killed all demons.
Celine can’t help but remember, no matter how much it wounds her.

Not exactly Xreader, but an original trans fem character x Lilly. not sure why or how. it takes 16,876 words for them to kiss consensually. don't worry about the tags, there's no weird sexual shit here, just melodrama. there are major spoilers for episode two: starved for help of Telltale's the walking dead. I recommend the game, it helps with understanding references and random characters that seem to come out of nowhere, but it's technically not necessary to understand the general plot.

A very comforting, yet heart-wrenching fic. Every chapter, the Anya POVs in particular, are very cathartic. It is a heavy read-through, but I whole-heartedly recommend it and would give this fic hundreds of more kudos!
