Summary
If Buck thought the aftermath of the lawsuit was bad, it had nothing – absolutely nothing – on the Winchesters barreling into his life, finding out the apocalypse was imminent, that his own death was a seal, and a demon hitting on him.
He really should have realized that when an angel shows up to stop you from throwing yourself off a bridge, that it isn’t always a good thing.

After the lawsuit, Buck is back at work, hoping to reconcile. Only...it doesn't go as planned. His family hates him and after a lifetime of rejection it's one hit too many. Buck plans his goodbye…only a certain angel stops him, 'borrows' him, hands him the Winchester-patented starter's guide to hunting manual, and gives him purpose again. Too bad that angel was so busy saving Buck, they forgot about the goodbye letters left in the loft.

Summary
Evan Buckley never knew who Daniel Buckley was. To Evan, Daniel was a headstone in a cemetery. He was a ghost who shared a name with Buck and never had any flowers or visitors. Not until Evan found him and decided they were family.
Evan became Buck became 'Toy Story' became Evan Buckley-Diaz. And through all of it, he wrote post-cards to a headstone in a cemetery in Hershey, Pennsylvania, making sure to keep the forever (almost) nine year old as part of his life.
So when Buck gets out of the Army, when he's healed as much as he can be, he has an idea. Buck couldn't be the only one in the military who never had family to talk to while he served. Making a non-profit to connect other veterans felt like the most reasonable decision.

Anhora breathed out, his gaze resting on the son who was fading away. Another of his pure-hearted creatures disappearing because of glory and hatred, because of ignorance and deceit.
His eyes then shifted to the boy who had held, cradled, the head of Anhora’s son, Estel, in his hands.
“I’m so sorry,” he was whispering, “I’m so very sorry.”
Anhora allowed a faint smile to disturb his solemn expression, a glimmer of light in the grim darkness.
At least, he thought, someone who still cared did exist.

He never thought he'd be recalled to the Navy, when the bombing happened and he almost lost his leg that seemed to be the moment everything turned upside down. He gets a blood clot tries to sue for his job and during the lawsuit he gets that big white envelope from the DOD with a big banner with the word Classified.

The thoughts he had been keeping away since he was discharged now assaulted him and there was no one there to stop them from pushing him into the abyss...But then a random call reveals family secrets that might just safe his life.
Now he's taking some time to meet his new brother and the man's family. With the older man's help he might be able to heal but how does Buck tell his new brother that he slept with the older man's best friend or that he wants to do it again. Doesn't help that the friend has a girlfriend 'soon to be fiancé' that keeps sending Buck suspicious looks.
