Summary
Bucky's first solo mission is going fine until it's not. The lead he was following has dragged him into the middle of suburbia hell and he needs a cover story. Enter Steve, who would do anything to make sure Bucky's first solo mission succeeds, and you have a lot of awkward men trying to fake being in love while secretly fighting evil. Figuring out their feelings along the way only makes things more difficult. Add in the occasional help from old friends to keep their cover, new friends along the road, a few well meaning set ups and you get one hell of an interesting mission to say the least.
EDIT 9/2024: YALL WONT BELIEVE THIS BUT......Im working on chapter 3-5!! My goal is to wrap this up in 5 chapters just so all you lovelies finally have closure. A few years later.....HA!
EDIT 5/2025: You didn't see that chapter count change. Shhhhhh. Also, updated the first two chapters! :) Rating updated. I have been working hard and trying to get this story finished while I have free time soooooo, probably not as much smut as originally intended. Sorry!

I could have just gone to them first and got your number.” Sun laughed, picking up his bag. “I figured if I got in contact with you first, it’d smooth things over a bit before I headed home. You know my parents.”
Way had no clue how to feel about the fact that they’d run into Martin’s actual mother. Pete had told him he’d had no idea where his former fiancé ended up after he suddenly left shortly after Martin’s birth, that he never expected to see him again. Way had sort of thought the guy had died somewhere. Pete didn’t like to talk about it, always quickly changing the subject when it was brought up, so Way never dwelled on it much. It’d been the entire four years of Martin’s life without a single sign of the boy’s other biological parent, so Way had felt very secure in his place as Pete’s mate and Martin’s stepfather.
