The stars are bright outside, but they're so far away. So distant, a fickle memory in a far gone mind. The only thing he can reach, the only tangible object, is his arm, cold and metal in his hand: his forever companion, his only constant. He wishes he could rip it from its socket.
At least... At least it's inspired him to do much more in this life of his. He'll take this thing that weighs so heavy on him and make it good.

Summary
Dreams are fickle, little things, coming to steal breath held in lungs in the middle of the night, making sure the heart hammers and the chest aches. No one is free from dreams, especially not someone who has more memories than anyone in the entire universe. But that doesn't mean a talk, a drink, and a bit of love from all around can't help remedy the pain and leave a fluttering softness in its wake.

The smell of iron in the room is cloying, settling into the nooks of every vile and scalpel in his lab. Though, it no longer wafts from the blood on the man's body. Instead, it is the opened figure of an arm, wires spilling through fractures, metal jutting in al directions. Cub stares at it with hollow apathy: an exemplar of his very failure in the realm of bioengineering. It wasn't his fault he never cared much for mechanical contraptions. He'll have to find how to fix it some other way...

He can't hear anything. Well, he can, but it's just a ceaseless ringing in his ears. Extremely annoying. The next time he was kidnapped, he would try to ask beforehand to keep him knocked out. That would be much more preferable.
For the time being, he'll just have to keep his cool and deal with the surely annoying scientist he'll encounter soon.
