I’d spent my whole life, ever since the age of 6, (so about 14 years) in this bleach-white house, with the clean black streets, with the bleach-white people and their bleach-white smiles, wired together with veneers and caps. They had a sickening hairspray and cigarette smell to them all, like a pack of wolves and the stench they carried marking their territory. Their kids were always top of their classes, always better than you, always joyful and happy. Just so white. So bland.
It left that hairspray-cigarette smell lingering in the walls of my mouth. Lingering in all of me.
About 11 months ago me and my now best friend faced off against a horrible eldritch entity known as The King in Yellow, and it now lives in his head like a rodent. I’d like to draw attention to the absurdity of that. I still hadn’t fully wrapped my head around it.

That was, until Parrot, his best friend, introduces him to piano.
It was perfect.
Everyday, after school, Wifies would find an excuse to immediately bolt out his last class, right after the bell rang, to go on the opposite side of the school building. On that side, it was filled with empty, abandoned classes, with the simple goal in mind: to play piano.
He enjoyed playing, all to himself, of course. With no one to bother him, he could play perfectly, and make beautiful melodies.
