“Family movie night? Pick a good show, we need to make fun of people.” She clapped her hands.
“Alright alright, c'mon. Let’s go.” Leo got up with Casey’s help and the three of them walked into the main living area. Leo told Donnie what to put on and him and Casey went to go help Mikey with the cookies.
Once everything was ready, all of them were huddled together in the living room, watching the worlds cheesiest TV show, it was dumb but that was Leo’s plan. He just wanted to laugh and feel happy. And that’s exactly what happened, all of them each telling jokes or poking fun at the main characters just as he did with April. By the end of the night, everyone was asleep in a pile, which is exactly what Leo needed. He was knocked out again and his dreams were filled with warm memories.

Leo realizes maybe being leader isn’t always helping other people. Receiving help back it normal, and his family is ready to give.

Failure was imminent; he knew that. It was only by the skin of his teeth that he was able to hide a full-on chemical burn on both hands from his brothers, it was only by the skin of his teeth that he still managed to wake up in the morning to work on mindless projects. He was going to break. He was going to shatter soon if he wasn't careful.
But he carried on regardless. Not because he was an idiot, but because he wanted to help.
And if helping meant discarding any semblance of self-preservation that remained within him, then so be it.

The spirit frowned and stood up. “That’s weird, we were just together.”
There was a shift and Uncle’s head came up. They stared at this strange spirit. It turned its back to them and Zuko was breathless at the show of disregard. Figures a spirit would not consider him a threat. He shouldn’t take it personally, but he’s been dismissed his whole life. He’s tired of it. A hand gripped his trembling one and he takes a breath. There is no use getting upset over the ways of a spirit. They both studied its small form and Zuko was caught by its profile. The spirit’s back held three repeating and somewhat glowing symbols. It curved in a familiar motion.
“A turtle,” Uncle whispered.

Summary
Donnie often found it easier to ignore, rather than accept.
He would ignore the cuts and scrapes on his hands after working on an invention for too long. He would ignore the looks Leo gave him after he was in his lab(also for too long), and then ignore the uncomfortably long and tight hugs Mikey gave him that followed Leo’s looks. He would ignore Raph’s long and never-ending rants about how he should take care of himself.
Now, he ignored everything. He ignored when Leo banged on the door of his lab yelling for him to come out, he ignored Mikey’s worried statements, he ignored the gross slimy feeling that took over his entire body every once in a while. He ignored how Raph almost knocked the door of his lab down every few hours, fixing it in complete silence. He ignored texts from April, and he ignored the burning sensation that flooded through his hands and arms. He ignored the emptiness in his chest and the pain in his head. He mindlessly worked, drawing out random blueprints for things he didn't need. He fused random metal scraps into random shapes.
He did everything he could to forget.

Mikey’s looking at him. His eyes are searching, scanning him up and down, like a watchdog. Donnie’s in the middle of getting to his feet to work, and he can’t possibly open up to him. It’s stupid. Irrational. Deplorable.
Donnie offers back a pathetic grin. “I’m fine.” The words are quick, seamless. Mikey smiles something bright at him, the answer giving no one anything to think about, nothing to consider. Mikey is busy, busy like Donnie is, and he can’t bring himself to throw another thing onto the youngest brother.
He feels his shell pounding. Flesh ticking like clockwork. There’s no pain, not yet, just brass bright growing stains in his flawless techwear. No one notices.
Good. He’s got a lot of work to do.
