He motioned forward and twelve palace guards entered, dragging in twelve polished axes, heavy and sharp. They set them down, heads aligned on the marble floor in a long, gleaming line.
Tommy stepped in front of them and held up the bow.
“My brother’s weapon,” he said. “The bow that has broken armies. The hand that held it ruled without question. So, here’s my challenge; my gift to all of you who’ve played games and bared teeth behind closed doors.”
He scanned the room. Many looked away. One did not.
Dream .The King of Essempi. Cloaked in green and crowned in ambition. He stood tall and still, lips curled in his usual sneer.
Tommy met his gaze, stepped forward, and threw the bow at their feet.
It hit the marble with a heavy crack and spun to a stop.
“String it,” Tommy demands. “That’s the test. That’s the crown. You want it? Prove you are worthy.”
Whispers echoed around the room, some confused, most angry.
Dream tilted his head, smiling just enough to show the sharp edge beneath.
Tommy looked at him and thought, 'Fetch. Like the dog you are.'

Everything is fine. Then the power goes out and along with it the heat. Still, he's fine. It's all good. He'll just bundle up and wear extra layers, and wrap himself up in a blanket. And then there's a burglary in the building. It's no problem because he's Spider Man. Except it is a problem because the burglar was trying to get into his apartment and now the door knob is broken, and he can't lock the door and he's completely freaked out! Dark apartment, no lock on the door, and oh yeah, he's shaking. And he still has two more nights on his own without May. Not knowing where else to go, he goes to Stark Tower to find Tony.

Summary
The struggle was real when it came to keeping a secret identity. Especially when the identity was kept from a group of superheroes made up of a retired agent, a retired assassin, a retired super-assassin, a super soldier, a couple military men, some geniuses and a literal god.
Peter thought he would be able to keep his name and face away from the spotlight until he was at least old enough to drink. He hoped that his Parker Luck would hold out until his twenty-first birthday, maybe even past that. But a villain crawling out of the woodwork and a couple of life-threatening injuries were quick to change his plans.
Hopefully, he could just flash those Bambi eyes and get it over with.

AU. Nineteen year old Peter Parker has worked for SHIELD ever since he had a run-in with Nick Fury over alien technology a couple of years ago.
When Tony Stark and Happy Hogan are injured in an attack that uses unfamiliar alien tech, Peter is assigned by Fury as their bodyguard and informant. He has one rule he tells himself on missions. Or, well, one rule with three sub-sections: get in and out, stay alert, and do not get attached. (That last sub-section holds more weight than the others — by about forty percent, give or take.)
Morgan Stark — and, apparently, the rest of the Avengers, along with people he's tried to leave behind — are making the last part of that rule very difficult for him. Oh, and it turns out that Tony Stark isn't as big of an asshole as everyone makes him out to be. Who knew?

For years now, L’Manburg had been living under the constant looming threat of the Puppeteer, a cunning villain with a passionate and borderline sadistic love for death. He stated publicly before that his ultimate objective was to find a cure for mortality, though it didn’t seem like he was anywhere close to achieving his objective by the ever-increasing pile of corpses lying at his feet.
He was a slippery one, and in eight years of activity, no one had been able to find any hint of where his hideout might be. All the most advanced tracking technology in the world had led to nothing but one wild goose chase after another, sometimes even leading the heroes well out of town, only to trap them and slaughter them like cattle once they were too far for reinforcements to reach them in a timely manner.
That all changed when Tommy, who wasn’t even a hero, was unfortunate enough to catch Puppeteer slipping back into his hideout underneath Church Prime as he was going for an early prayer before work.

Summary
Things are almost good for a little while. There is something like safety, like healing settling over the little cabin in the snow.
It feels a little bit like coming home, Tommy thinks, but he doesn’t say it out loud. It scares him sometimes, this vulnerability, this stability that could be torn out from under his feet at any moment. Trust is something he has felt like a knife in his back over and over. Trust is falling again and again even though there’s never anyone there to catch him before he hits the ground. Trust is broken bones and split lips, trust is spitting out blood and using his tongue to check for loose teeth.
And yet, and yet, when the same hands that curled into fists once before extend as open palmed offerings, he still takes them. Dream called him stupid, helpless, naive. Dream was right, Tommy knows, but Dream smelled like gunpowder and a bitter kind of smoke.
The smoke here is sweet and Tommy has never been one to learn from his mistakes.
Tommy had been Theseus for a little while. Tommy had been Icarus, Atlas, Prometheus.
But before all of that, he had been Tommy. Maybe there was a place for him to be again, now, in the after.

Summary
Growing up on the streets, Tommy was quick to find that taking on the guise of a monster was about the best way he could go around and get what he needed for way less than it should have been. It wasn’t exactly hard, as his forked tongue usually got people to move out of his way pretty quickly. With the added bonus of horns and a pointed tail, he didn’t look very kind, so he didn’t have to act it either.
He was not a normal hybrid, as you could imagine. He was obviously not a human either, who looked normal until you found out that they had managed to bind their soul with the creatures that stalked in the shadows. You tended not to mess with those people.
No, he was neither. Or, rather, both.
It’s complicated, ok? Tommy had the traits of a hybrid, with a tail and horns, but he had the powers of a human that had bonded their soul. It really meant that he had the power scale of a high-level threat, without the added bonus of surprise.
And he did not like what was his to be taken.or
Tommy's a demon hybrid and demon Technoblade and his host Wilbur are both very confused by this
