The voices are getting louder and Tommy is running out of time.
There’s a trail of smoke where something just barely catches alight and Tommy doesn’t bother with a cry of victory—not when he’s not free, not when he’s still suspended up in the air, dangling by his foot, trying to burn through his shoe so that he can gain favour towards escape or free his knife—“Oh my god Techno, your snare caught a child!”
Or: Tommy is running from his past, and finds family along the way.

After getting into a fight with Wilbur and Phil he finally found the courage to run, and frankly, it was about damn time.
AKA: Tommy has always felt a pull to the Nether, after a fight, he finds himself there, feeling more at home than he ever has before.

Even if he has to hide the fact that he's a God from them. And then he has to hide the fact that he's a vigilante from the heroes who he now works for and have taken an interest in him. Should be easy, right? Well...

Soot blinks at Tommy, a bewildered expression on its face before it flashes to one of pure anger. Sharp teeth on display and a warning growl crawling up his throat as it looked at - past? - Tommy.
Tommy steps back, he hadn’t done anything to offend Soot, right? Winter fae are fickle so really Tommy could have easily just looked at it wrong for it to get annoyed, but really Tommy was normally careful with fae, he knew how to handle them so why was Soot acting like he has offended it. It easily steps over the border of its circle and towards Tommy. Immediately Tommy discards his sandwich and begins to scramble backwards, fiddling with the stupid clasp on his bag trying to get it open without breaking his eye contact. Shit, fuck, shit. He knew better than to taunt fucking fae. Fuck. Fuck.
“Stop,” Soot orders with a hiss, Tommy freezes obediently, Soot has no real power over Tommy, it doesn’t have his name and yet Tommy was frozen solid, unable to even flinch as it leans down towards him, “They like you,” it muses.

Tommy may seem harmless at first glance, but Phil and Techno know otherwise. To be a gemsmith, a person who connects soulmates, is not a profession for those who are docile.
But Tommy is intriguing at first glance. Always talking, always moving, always challenging them. So they stick around. Not too long though, they have two other soulmates to find, but long enough to develop their relationship beyond customer and shopkeeper.
If only they realized why they were developing this relationship in the first place before the Hunters came knocking on Tommy’s shop.
