The thing is though, Oliver wants, he’s always wanted. Ryan showed up, pink-cheeked and sleek and eager to fit into the cast. He laughs and walks with his hips, but there’s a hint of darkness in his eyes that Oliver’s always trying to capture. It’s fast, it’s fleeting. Quicker than a shutter sometimes, but Oliver tries. Maybe if he can capture it, he can take it away from Ryan, lock it away in a photo like Dorian Gray.

Buck’s in the kitchen, at the sink washing up their dishes from breakfast, contemplating his chores for the day, the grocery list, next week’s shift pattern. He doesn’t even hear Eddie come into the room, not until strong arms are wrapping around him from behind, the heat of Eddie’s body pressed against him with intent, raising goosebumps on Buck’s forearms, a sudden swoop of anticipation going through him as Eddie’s mouth brushes almost incidentally against the nape of his neck.
He goes still, waiting, his breath already shallow, face heating in a way that has nothing to do with the basin of hot water beneath him. Eddie seems content to just hold him for a beat, his hands resting on Buck’s chest, not touching him really, just there, big and warm and then –.
‘Are you ready for me?’
