Summary
Despite the #SirRepentious success, Heaven remains skeptical of a sinner's ability to change. Logic gets lost somewhere, and really, what's a better way to show sinners can be marginally less horrible than to stick two Overlords who hate each other in the same living space?
OR
Alastor and Vox play house.

Summary
"Oh yeah," Vox wheezed, laughing so hard that digital tears leaked down his screen. Even Alastor bit back a chuckle. "Since everything's a fucking Disney ripoff anyway, why not offer me your hand in marriage to save your kingdom or some shit? You don't even have to kneel at this height!"
Lucifer suddenly remembered an old story a temp Sinner at the hotel had shared. It was called the dick-in-the-can story and it meant exactly what it meant. The Sinner knew it would be a stupid endeavor, but they had decided to do it anyway. The dare wasn't even a tempting offer. It had no positive reward. It just existed. It was on the record. It was putting a hand in the cage, knowing that the animal inside was rabid, except the hand was the dick and the cage was an old Pepsi can. It was the act of doing it because why not. Why not be that one moral of the story to the dick-in-the-can fable.
OR
Canon divergence from both S2E5 and the S2 finale. Following the rally, Lucifer does a last-ditch effort to stop the war against Heaven by...offering his hand in marriage. To Vox. Of all people. Skip forward to post-finale, where Vox is now the lowly tech guy at the Hotel and still, somehow, the devil's spouse.

Summary
Post-Finale. The Hotel finds Alastor right on the front lawn, unconscious and bleeding, still injured from Adam's blade. While he recovers, all of Hell scrambles to find out who his mysterious rescuer is.
Meanwhile, Vox tries not to freak out that he might have accidentally made a soul bond to save that deer asshole's life. All he had wanted to do was to scope out the ruins of Alastor's radio tower. Fuck him for being curious, he supposed.
(not on hiatus anymore! woohoo)

Premise: Alastor ignores a cry of help from Vox. The consequences roll into the decades.
The series is 'completed' in the sense that I'll just add fics when I feel like it. Every story can be standalone but best read with "wallow" for the extra punch.

Summary
A small part of Gi-hun's eyes stayed bright. When Sang-woo noticed, the world stopped, and he couldn’t do what he was prepared to do. Warm droplets of rain fell down his face, and he begged that Gi-hun would walk away and end this, but he couldn’t leave him alone. Couldn’t leave anything alone.
Figures.
Sang-woo let out a shaky breath and took his hand.
An AU where both Gi-hun and Sang-woo end the game, but are subsequently left with nothing.

Bookmarker's Notes
“Of course I did!” Gi-hun chuckled, “I knew I had to stick with you somehow. You needed my prime expertise.”
Sang-woo let himself smile.
“And who would have thought, huh? That we both ended up like this?”
It was a depressing thing for him to say, but Gi-hun didn’t seem deterred. If anything, the sad grin on his face only grew in warmth. In his warped view of their relationship, Gi-hun must have thought that there was something favorable about all of this."
Crown for the best story in the Squid Game fandom, and one of the best stories on the site.

“Do you think you really helped him? Don’t be self-righteous. He’s a drunk. He’ll end up on the street tomorrow, and he’ll freeze to death then.”
In-ho’s sanity slowly slipped away. He leaned against the man, still muttering over and over. Suddenly, a touch burned him. It was the other man’s fingers, gently cupping at nape of his neck.
“If you’re going to leave him to fend for himself without fixing him, you should have just let him die,” In-ho repeated.
“I understand,” came the man’s answer. “Take it as my own selfishness, then.”
Role Reversal AU where Gi-hun is the Frontman, and In-ho meets him after the games in 2015.

a must-read! Each sentence is so well-crafted, and the characterization is incredibly strong even with the roleswap.

Bookmarker's Notes
Genuinely one of the most impressive fics I've read recently on this site. The glitter-Atlantis scene is unforgettable.
"In the cell in the Fearamid, Ford had pressed his bare hands to his brother's gloved ones, and for the first time in his life felt both his hands fully mirrored by another person. Hands were always what the chemistry textbooks used to explain chirality: structural mirror images, non-superimposible. When it came up in class, students would clasp their own hands together and then turn to their neighbors, giggling, and align their hands with each other in a chain of reflections around the room. Ford kept his folded under his desk.
Stan in the six-fingered gloves was a trick, but their chirality was real. It wasn't just about the one time, when they'd bet the universe on it. Their lives were mirrored."
AND
"Of course, the net would be damaged again. It was constant work, finding all the rips and sewing them up, knowing that any day something else might come and tear the thing to shreds. But still, they would keep patching. The net was, after all, the only one they had. It wasn’t new. It wasn’t perfect. No one—except for Mabel—would ever call it pretty. But on that day it draped across the cabin in a kaleidoscope of color. It was bright, and it was glittering, and it was whole."
An absolute must-read and a perfect character study.
