Summary
The land of Gemeinplatz is a land filled with fantastical creatures, adventurers looking to slay them, and heroes looking to distinguish themselves from the adventurers. The most common of these heroes are those who come from Earth, who enjoy a most leisurely time with their cheat skills. It’s a perfect world, the utopia of those who wish to become overpowered and get their own power fantasy, where even the most everyman of the everyman can pull themselves by their bootstraps and become a hero.
To satisfy the needs of heroes who can’t find function like a normal human being (which most of them can’t), the lucrative Gemeinplatz slave trade crushes the dreams and ruins the lives of hundreds every day. These slaves endlessly labor, in the harems of so-called heroes, at the mansions of the landowning “heroes”, and as rare materials for various dubious magical spells.
In a world that looks down at them as demi-human, where the ruling class has no incentive to end this profitable trade, in which their oppressors are overpowered as all hell, what hope is there for the slaves?
What hope is there, is named John Brown. This time, he’ll finish what he started.

Summary

Did people visit Connecticut this much? She had even forgotten this state existed until she was boarding the damn plane.
Lucia took a deep breath to settle her rising nerves. Everything was going to be fine, for the most part.'

Tragedy strikes and Lucia is forced to move with her mom and Luz after thirteen years of not seeing them. Things are complicated, letting yourself be vulnerable is hard and scary. But maybe it'll work out in the end.

Summary
Luz Noceda is a spirited, energetic girl with a vibrant imagination and a cheerful attitude. Through her adventures on the Boiling Isles, she’s really come into her own as she strives to become a witch, make new friends, and follow her dreams so that she can live her best life. There’s been difficulties of course, but one can’t deny that she’s done very well for herself in this strange, sometimes scary new world where she can truly be herself.
Luz Noceda is a quiet, somewhat withdrawn girl who nevertheless has a good heart and an earnest desire to improve herself. Her start at the Reality Check Summer Camp was unfortunately rather rough, but despite the bullying and lack of friends, she’s still managed to adapt very well, earning the adoration of camp counselors and finding happiness in change while still holding on to what makes her herself.
But... wait. That doesn’t make sense. Luz could only choose one of those paths. Surely only one of them could possibly be the truth.
...Right?

Adora and Catra explore strange new worlds, meet weird new aliens and go on badass adventures a year after the show ends. Meanwhile, they are both still figuring out who they are and how to ask for what they want. Because they may be badass space diplomat/warrior/adventurers, but they are also 22.
I promise there will be a space dragon.
Starts space opera and then shifts into being a gay AF Conan homage. Basically the perfect fic if you are part of the converging sliver in the Venn Diagram of fandoms for She Ra and 80's US Power Metal.
Note: this fic is my version of teen and up, so a lot of swearing, sex and violence both happen and are discussed but not explicitly described, and characters get drunk or high. Overall violence is somewhat more than canon (there is blood, and explicit mentions of people dying).

Then something goes wrong, stranding Amity with Luz, far away from everything she’s ever known.
Meanwhile, life soldiers on in the Boiling Isles, but unbeknownst to Amity, her disappearance will radically alter the lives of those close to her. Eda, Edric, Emira, Willow and Gus resolve to do everything in their power to bring her back, but not without facing challenges of their own.

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

An interestingly nuanced exploration of trans issues. The "Amity is transgender" concept is taken to places that might surprise the reader, but deepen their understanding of the topic.
Set in a world where everyone is some flavor of non-heteronormative, and Vee is... whoo boy. The author had taken Vee's character in _directions_.

Luz quickly put her hands over the round, human ears Amity was pointing at. "I’m sorry, I can’t explain," she said as she backed away. "I’ve got to go, sorry!"
She turned and ran back towards the clearing, her eyes darting around to try and spot the vines. She burst through the bushes to the spot where Willow had been, but all that was left were a few purple streaks on the round where it looked like the girl had scooped her own Abomination mixture up before pushing her own cart away. Luz looked around to see if there was a trail she could follow, but there was nothing.
She was too late.

Amity finally reveals her feelings for Luz, but the human's embarrassing reaction makes things awkward between the two girls. Luz wishes she can go back and relive the moment to get it right, but after trying a magical solution to her problem she ends up stuck in the past with an Amity who has never even seen a human before.

It was a Monday after school when Amity’s heart started to crack.
A ringing began in her pointed ears as her breath hitched. The words that had just come out of her crush’s mouth couldn’t be true. She couldn’t have heard her properly. It had to be a mistake.
“Wh-what?” Amity asked, barely able to contain the shock in her voice. “What did you just say?”
Luz placed a hand on the back of her neck and rubbed, sheepishly blushing and avoiding eye contact with any of her friends. “I...I kinda, sorta, really have a thing for Em,” she repeated.

This fic stirs up a well-worn formula with a dash of Mature-Conversation-About-Her-Feelings Amity, and Look-Man-I'm-Just-A-Kid-I-Don't-Have-This-Romance-Thing-Figured-Out-Yet-Give-Me-Time Luz, and the result is adorable.
