Summary
Things had been different lately. Shifting, changing. Slow and gentle enough that it couldn’t be pinpointed to a single event, but a culmination- little by little- of anomalies. Of things that didn’t quite add up in Määnin’s brain. That made his stomach twist subconsciously, though he never truly stopped to unpack the reason why.
Tommy was quieter these days, certainly. More distant, perhaps, and settled in a way he’d rarely ever been. Like a raging storm tamed to a gentle breeze.
Tommy moves on. Määnin doesn’t.

Summary
For years Tommy learned how not to look at Määnin too long. To not stare at the crease in his lips when he grinned or linger when their shoulders touched loading gear.
Praise had been his only outlet: his worship, half-masked as musical admiration.
On stage, they were friends and bandmates. Off stage, the lines began to blur. But as the tour wears on, Tommy has to decide how much of himself he can keep at arm’s length and how much he’ll lose if he lets Määnin sink deeper into his destructive impulses.

Somewhere where the walls are thick, where people keep their noises inside their bodies, where scorpions do not live in kitchens, where old women do not vanish into herb-scented moonlight. Somewhere where his oldest friends are not possessed by lust demons.

Summary
It was a grossly pathetic display of vulnerability, and if it were anyone else helping him in this state, he would be filled with a sort of inconceivable rage. But despite his shame, there was something about Tommy helping him like this, having dropped his frontman facade and being entirely genuine; it stirred something in Määnin, something he pretended that he wasn’t so sure was purely platonic.
Määnin ends up in hospital, and Tommy becomes overprotective to a fault. In a platonic way, obviously.

Summary
Tighnari is halfway through laughing out a witty response when Cyno stoops down, almost as if impulsively, and presses a kiss to the top of his head.
Tighnari freezes. Cyno must feel it, because he stops moving immediately. "Ah—Cyno—" Tighnari splutters, and Cyno lets out some kind of strangled hum. "What was that for?"
Cyno takes a slow breath and lets it hiss out through his teeth. "Um," he says awkwardly. "Good morning kiss?"
(Five times Cyno kisses Tighnari, and one time Tighnari returns the favor.)

Zuko’s already naturally raspy voice comes out even more broken as he confesses. He forces himself to meet Mai’s eyes.
The expression on Mai’s delicate face is not one of shock, or even anger. But there is a steady stream of tears leaking down her pale cheeks. Zuko is unsurprised when he begins crying, too.

And he’s not even exaggerating to make everybody happy. A year and a half of nothing but solo performances, plus the six months before his enlistment on top of that, nobody ever settling on the right time to test out anything else - but if the whole company is doing collaborations for this year's showcase, of course Kyubin’s joining in.
He’d figured they would pair him with a girl, but this is way more interesting.

That’s why this is different. Familiar, too, the way Yoongi’s body vibrates with an adrenaline rush after a long performance. How he gets so fucking horny sometimes, like his brain doesn’t know what to do with all those endorphins hitting him at once. He can’t deny that he’s currently half-mast in his jeans—that he isn’t recalling the other times he and Namjoon have gotten one another off to relieve that tension.
There’ve been at most five or six times he sought out Namjoon for this. No words exchanged except the language their eyes spoke, their mutual understanding that seems to subvert even the most subtle tells. Yoongi’s hand brushing over Namjoon’s bicep; Namjoon curling an arm around Yoongi’s middle under the guise of tugging him in for a group hug; the quirk of their lips, an unwavering stare.
