As luck would have it, Cid came in and liberated the whole estate of its Bearers. Scattered across the winds, August took the chance to "reinvent" himself as a skilled warrior. Surely, this would be his ticket.
Or it would be, if it weren't for the fact that Blackthorne, Cid's resident blacksmith, saw right through him.
A story about August throughout his years of service and the lug who was never far from reach.

Power was drawn to power. Embodying that power had untold changes one the vessel's form. That form had untold political ramifications, long since weaponized by Storm's ever-warring factions. Split into Alphas and omegas, the Dominants had long been key to the tenuous peace between these kingdoms and empires.
Such things went over Clive's head. The rules of Dominants did not apply to him, after all.

Side Note: I thought the in-game economy for the first third of the game was interesting, where things were actually expensive and you didn't earn a lot of gil normally. It felt more like a road trip there.
