Summary
In the Last Year, 1718, the Seas Witnessed the Deaths of Two of the Worst Menaces to Sail. The Pirates Edward Teach, commonly Known as Blackbeard, and Stede Bonnet, also the Gentleman Pirate, once Captained Together before the ultimate Capture of Bonnet in October. By November, the dread Blackbeard was Killed in Battle; not a Month after, the Gentleman Pirate was Hanged for his Crimes at Charles Town. His Majesty the King ends this Curse of Piracy by Sending these Devils back to Hell.

Summary
Stede waits until he can hear the loud stomps of strangers coming down the steps to the lower decks. Then he opens the tiny metal door in the wall and leans forward to press his mouth to the circular opening.
“Who dares,” he coos, drawing out the vowels, “disturb my slumber?”
Someone shouts. Others follow. The noises all carry and echo throughout the ship without an identifiable source and distort until they’re unrecognizable, wordless howls in the walls.
“Get out!” Stede shouts. “Get out while you still can!”
And then Black Pete begins to giggle, so Stede has to replace the cover and halt the operation entirely. “Really, Pete,” he hisses, “please be professional.”
(A post-season one fix it, sort of, where Stede becomes the pirate captain he was always meant to be and Blackbeard isn't fond of having a rival.)

“I pushed you off the boat.”
“Mmm - I was there. I know.”
“Was there any pain?”Drunk and lonley and hiding in the auxiliry closet, Blackbeard has begun hearing voices. Well, a voice. He entertains it. Even tells it about some of the feelings he's been going through. What's the harm?

Summary
“Gentlemen, please! Calm down! Nobody’s getting another go!” Stede says decisively, but excitement underlies his voice. He paces around in front of the group and smiles like he’s having the time of his life. “You know, I can’t believe none of you have ever done a pier jumping contest before. You’re all naturals!”
Ed smiles to himself as he takes another swig. They’re pirates. They’re moderately successful, they’re occasionally bloodthirsty, and they’re all wanted criminals.
And yet they’re all lining up to fling themselves into the sea, because their captain thought a group activity would be ‘good for morale’, and he’s surprisingly persuasive.
There’s no way Stede should have been able to talk them into this. The crew have enough swords and pistols between them that the second the words, “Why don’t we have a contest, for a bit of a giggle?” left his lips, Stede should have been more full of holes than a particularly tattered fishing net.
And yet, here they are, doing as he suggested and actually enjoying themselves in the process. It’s amazing.
He’s amazing.

Stede's heard 'soft' before, heard it his whole life. His father spat it like an insult and his teachers murmured it like it was a condition and his peers said it like it was a joke.
Ed doesn't say it like that, though. He says it like it's a compliment. He says it like it's something worth being.

Summary
He gives it a few days, watching the golden hairs grow on Stede’s face, and watching Stede frown and scratch his chin more often. But Stede doesn’t act any different. There’s no secret plans Ed can detect.
Ed confronts Stede over it one afternoon in Stede’s quarters. He’s given the matter a lot of thought, and he’s considered how best to bring it up. Stede is a gentleman, so Ed will broach the subject delicately.

But the thing is, as he gets closer, he has to blink his eyes to make sure he’s seeing things right. Because that’s definitely Jimmy’s body slumped over against the trunk of one of the apple trees, but floating above him is- well, it’s a floating light, a sphere with a one-foot diameter, just hanging out at Dean’s chest level. Dean approaches it carefully with a furrowed brow and half-raised hackles.
“Cas?” Dean prompts slowly. “Is that-”
And the orb is glowing out sweet and white like it could easily be used to keep away the dark in a child’s nursery. It’s so welcoming. Like Dean could just reach out, out, and catch that gentleness in his hands without any sort of consequence.
“Hello, Dean,” the orb hums.

Summary
A man named Cas wakes up in 2003 with no memories, but he's able to piece together a few things:
Supernatural creatures exist, and most of them will hurt innocent civilians if he doesn't stop them; he has abilities that no human hunter should have, but he knows enough about human hunters to keep that to himself, and finally; he keeps running into another hunter named Dean Winchester, who must be as lonely as he is if he's willing to put up with those former facts long enough to help Cas unravel the mystery of who (or what) he really is.
For his part, Dean's still (not) dealing with Sam's departure to Stanford, and figures distracting himself with a bit of mystery and intrigue is as harmless as it gets, right? Right.

Guillermo follows Nadja into most of her higher-level meetings, and accompanies her most times she leaves the house, but he stays out in the waiting area in a comfy green chair that he’s more or less designated as his own for everything else. Meetings with lower-level individuals, like the one Nadja’s currently in, aren’t enough of a threat for her to need protection, and he’s also often sent out when she’s trying to get work done on her own, because she “finds the rattling of his heart in his chest distracting.”
(“I like that I can hear you coming, Guillermo,” Nandor once said, a few years ago, with his hand pressed to Guillermo’s chest in a moment of drug-blood-induced lucidity. Guillermo doesn’t want to think about that.)

Before Richie (the second time), Eddie didn’t like to be touched. Casual touches from coworkers would find him frozen, tense, like cracked glass about to break, fleeting brushes from passersby on the street sent him rushing to him the nearest washroom or into a violent eruption of rage, but worst of all were touches from Myra. Looking back, Eddie knows why her touches gave him the most visceral reactions, but at the time he just thought he didn’t like to be touched, that he simply wasn’t a tactile person.
That all changed after Richie. After Derry. After almost dying. A lot of things changed after all of that.

Eddie wants to be squished by Richie.

It's not until after Eddie falls to the ground that Richie's allowed to run forward again. His movement comes and goes in flashes. In seconds, he's at Eddie's side, grabbing his hand, sliding his hand under his head to lift him up.
He's expecting Eddie to be alive, to look at him and say something, anything, but nothing happens. Eddie's just laying there, limp, his head lolling out of Richie's hold.
