Summary
As an eight year old Robin, Dick had traversed the tightrope of good and evil effortlessly, understanding how to navigate the world's morality in the way that only a child could. He knew right, he knew wrong and he knew how to differentiate between the two. As an adult, Dick didn’t have that certainty, and he no longer ran, skipped and cartwheeled over that tightrope. Moan2 is many things all at once; Gotham's hottest new party drug, an awful scourge that Dick and his family can't seem to stem, and an unassuming pill that strips its user of all free will and autonomy. Dick knows intimately just how dangerous this pill is, but it doesn't matter how much he tries or how hard he works, he just can't solve this case.
As more users become hooked, more dealers turn up dead and more people disappear from clubs never to be seen again, Dick feels his desperation grow. He'll do anything to solve this case. He'll give everything to save all of those people. He'll give it all.

He means to turn away after that, let Batman leave his apartment on his own without so much as a word, but when his arm begins to lift, Dick can’t help but watch.
Watch as Batman pulls back the cowl. Watch as Bruce’s face is revealed, grey and sunken and wrong, all wrong, sickly without the flush of fever. His eyes are like fogged glass- he’s reminded, viscerally, of the fresh fish Alfred would have in the kitchen, right before preparing them for dinner.
(Dick has hallucinations. He should probably tell someone.)

It’s not fair. He wants to scream, to shout, to break his father’s rule one last time and strike his blade through Crane’s worthless neck, but he cannot even if he were to gather up the will to do so. He’d have to break away from Richard to do that, and he has a feeling that the action would shatter him.
It wasn’t supposed to go like this.
(Damian's rebreather breaks, and Dick refuses to let him get gassed. Taking one for the team means Damian finding out one of his greatest fears.)
