Summary
Everyone knows that abandoned things are much prettier than things that used to be abandoned, mainly because it's hard to make the abandoned thing new again. There will always be a hint of something "old", out of place when surrounded by so much "new". It takes so much work to make a thing like that pretty again. It's either leave as is or work until it doesn't look the same anymore, and neither seem appealing.
OR: Sometimes, healing is hard and staying stagnant feels much easier on the heart than the hope for tomorrow does. (Continuation of "Wonder")

Summary
When Leo was little, as in extra little and barely a cupboard tall, his favorite superhero wasn’t Batman like everyone would’ve guessed. As he grew older, he grew wiser and his taste in heroes changed. It became Batman like the top of Leo's imaginary podium had been made for him since the beginning of time.
And Leo couldn't think of a better guy to be like.
OR: Leo forgets to stop and smell the roses every once in a while, and childlike wonder is so easily lost in time.

Set sometime after Tales of the Hidden City and before Battle Nexus New York.
The only reason that Leo and Draxum were spending any time together was because Mikey wanted all of his brothers to get along with their other ‘Dad’. And neither of them could say no to his pleading eyes.
But pleading eyes can’t unhook someone from the vines that root them to their past mistakes. The way to redemption and forgiveness lies with concrete action, both to better oneself and to right previous wrongs.

They hadn’t told him, but Donnie had eyes. He could observe it. He wasn’t asking for thanks or open appreciation— he knew people only did that when they wanted something more from him or wanted to hurt him. Knowing they were content without him because of his actions was all that mattered.
(He missed praise. He missed turtle piles, and pizza weeks, and movie nights where they watched his favorites and actually engaged with them. He missed karaoke and DDR and biweekly Powerpoint nights where he deliberately picked the most moronic topic to rant about like a madman, just to revel in the sound of Leo shrieking with laughter.
And God, he missed S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, so so much. Something had broken in him when he’d found his AI chip in the rubble, unsalvageable. Something about the grief of it all had made everything feel worthless. Even if he yearned for it—that didn’t really matter anymore, did it? It was gone.)
