Summary
“Alex?” he asks quietly, cautious in case Alex is asleep, though it would be hugely out of character for Alex to be asleep on the couch in the middle of the afternoon, especially on a weekday. Alex doesn’t answer, but he does look up at Bobby, eyes sort of bleary and glassy. “You okay?” Bobby asks, not sure how worried he should be.
In response, Alex just buries his face in the pillow and extends a hand out, palm up and open. Getting the message, Bobby takes his hand, squeezes it gently. Alex squeezes back, but it’s more lackluster. “No choices,” he says simply, and his voice is scratchy, small. “Can’t make any more.”
